Anyone knows a screen protector which doesnt do a film grain effect when the 3D is on?
Mine feels so cheap :(

I don't think there is a screen protector that exists that doesn't make your screen look like it is covered in grime.

Kid Icarus Damage

Postby hakkai » 26 Mar 2012 18:29

I just recently read the story about how much damage KI does to your screen if it's not protected.

So can someone tell me what the best screen protector is and how much it costs.

I know some people said that if you take care of your stuff it won't get near that damaged, but it's better to be safe than sorry...

You all should get Hori Screen protectors. They're the best and you can buy them off Amazon for $8.99! :P

I'm sorry, but I have to go with pretty but unprotected screen. My DS has only a few scratches on it after hours and hours of touch screen heavy games like Zelda and TWEWY. I think the key is not pushing too hard, making sure your stylus tip is in good shape, and keeping the screen clean.

9 bucks for a screen protector is kinda steep isn't it. Is it ugly but efficient or pretty but flimsy. Also does it leave that nasty residue behind when you replace it...

I have those HORI screen protectors, and in all honesty they are worth it. I've had only a few air bubbles from my own clumsy hands while placing it on, but they are in very discreet locations. My only advice is to use a real static-free cloth, something like a glasses-lens cloth to use, instead of the crappy paper towel they give you, but make sure you do wipe the screen down regardless. My friend also used HORI, but didn't bother wiping the screen down, and it was a wasted $9 that way for him.

Every time I open up my Zelda 3DS I see the marked lines on the side of the screen where the ridge from the bottom screen rubs against the top, and I can say if I had delayed it getting a screen protector it might have been far worse off.

The only issue is that I may end up having to hold the handheld a few inches further than I would normally for the maximum 3D effect (or maybe I was holding it too close originally), but outside of that I definitely recommend the HORI screen protector as well.

I have the ones that came with Power A's 3DS accessories. Had it on there for months and still can hardly tell it's there. I only used the one for the touch screen though.

so this was my opinion on the matter a while ago...then i saw an itty bitty scratch and freaked out and bought the hori screen protectors.......and they look great. I can barely tell they are there. The only problem is theres some bubbling around the edges (not over the screen though) and it sucks up fingerprints like crazy...way worse than without em

still, i change my mind about before...get screen protectors, or at least a touch screen protector

I'd rather have a safe, ugly screen with a cheap protector than something that's going to bug the heck outta me for a long time. I hate, hate, hate looking at permanent marks and scratches on screens!
With a scratched up screen, the system will be flawed for the rest of its life (until you replace the screen itself or buy another console later.)
