Capcom - A bit of patience while waiting on Monster Hunter and other franchise news, more info coming later

I understand you want MH and other franchises... patience. ...We will have additional announcements of more products in the coming months and perhaps what you seek will be there. - Capcom's Christian Svensson

That's a combination of two different posts pertaining to questions about the content revealed at Captivate 2012. Many people were hoping for Mega Man, Monster Hunter and other Capcom franchise news, but it didn't come. At least we know there are other announcements in the works. Let's hope some of that hits at E3.

I've just kind of stopped believing anything Capcom says. This just sounds like a way to get people off their back.

But Monster Hunter is a money maker so I'm sure it'll be around eventually.

He's kinda setting Capcom up for more hate. No matter what they announce after this, there's going to be at least one fanbase that gets enraged.

So, basically an upcoming MH localization announcement was confirmed. Well, we knew we'd get MH4 anyway.. 3G with online would be a treat.

I think it's long overdue for Capcom to change the name of their annual showcase event from Captivate to Underwhelm, because that's exactly what this year's event was, underwhelming.

@FrenchFryGuy

If you have no expectations then you won't ever be let down.

I'll never understand why gamers feel the need to continually hype themselves up only to inevitably be let down. RMC touting some supposed announcement for a Nintendo platform based on vague references that never materialized didn't help.

After following gaming for nearly 25 years now I've just learned to ignore all of the noise and just pay attention to the official announcements when they come. Anything else is a recipe for aggravation.

People should start doing that but Capcom is a special case. They aren't afraid of announcing a game, hyping it, showing off demoes, trailers, screenshots, and release dates and then pulling the plug for no reason. People should just quit trusting Capcom outright. I don't wait for their official announcements anymore, I wait until the game is in my hands.

Would it kill them to just make the announcement? someone is going to leak it before E3, so they might as well just tell us now.

its like Mega Man doesnt even exist. It's officially been reduced to Capcom's biggest franchise and most notable game they had to "other franchises"

Megaman and Zero are both in the Namco X Capcom X SEGA cross over RPG.

Games get canceled. That's been going on for decades. And it's not exclusive to Capcom.

Heck, there are even games in Nintendo's official player's guide from the 1980's that were never released.

I know that. Please tell me how many games get that far in development and get that much publicity and then just die. Mega Man Legends 3 was not just some game getting canceled. Please look into what actually happened before deciding we don't have a reason to be upset.

I don't know why they just don't tell us if MH3 is coming or MH4. So we can all get some closure, no point on string your customers along only to not deliver. Making the relationship even more bittersweet.

@Windsor

I'm well aware of what happened with MML3. I was looking forward to it when it was canned. Oh well. Sh*t happens.

At least it wasn't a completely finished game that was canned. Nintendo would never do something like that. :?
