GoNintendo 'End of Day' thought - Shamoozal's ROM series returns: Contra with Two Players

Oh yeah, it's finally back! We're slowly ramping up our video content, which makes this the perfect time for the Read Only Memory series from Shamoozal to show up! Rather than blabber on about how happy I am to have the series back, let's let creator Phil chat us up! See you in a few, short hours

-----The following post comes from Phil Summers, creator of the Read Only Memory animated series-----

Howdy fellow GoNintendo readers! It’s been a long time coming (over a year in fact), but I’ve brought you another episode of Read Only Memory. Oh, you don’t remember Read Only Memory? It’s okay, this post should have you covered.

This episode, Contra with Two Players, kind of explains itself. With this short I wanted to capture the feeling of playing Contra with a friend all those years ago. There were as many highs as there were lows, but in the end it was always a grand time. Seriously though, the original NES Contra is in my Top 5 games of all time. As a result, I really tried to nail down the feel of Contra, and of course, present it with my brand of humor. So I hope you enjoyed the short! This ranks up there with some of the more difficult shorts I’ve had to tackle.

So Read Only Memory. For those that don’t know, I’ve been doing these shorts on and off for GoNintendo for the last few years. If you’re a long time reader, you probably remember them, but if you’re not, how about an introduction? Below you can find every previous episode of ROM, from the simple tale of Turnips In Love, to the absurdity of Pizza Links. I hope that you like them!

I know it takes me ages to get through these shorts sometimes, so if you want to keep tabs on my progress, be sure to Like us on Facebook, or follow me on Twitter. I’ll post a nugget or two once in awhile keeping people up to date on the progress I make when creating these things.

Thanks for reading and most importantly, watching!

I really can't say enough how happy I am to have this series back. I quote the 'Gotta go back, Duke!' line on a weekly basis. Just ask Mom Brain if you don't believe me!

I remember the Pizza Links one, if only because of the sheer weirdness of the ending.
Funny stuff, I'm glad to see these are back.

Oh yeahhhhhh!! Rinry!!
She seemed real nice and her stuff was interesting, but I can live without the fanboy gushing/cruel backlash that constantly filled the comments if she were to come back :P

Next time I play Metroid Fusion, I'm gonna envision that guy as Samus-X with rinry's voice for maximum terror.

These are legendary and the "Sheamus" one was just too amazing. Thank you guys, I really enjoyed them.

Great job! I love these shorts! Its hard for me to pick one, but if I had to, I'd pick the pizza one probably. It is just so weird. "Kiss me!" LOL

You should make a Star Fox one.

these are great man! i love your videos.. on nearly a daily basis i think the phrase "skunk turds". it was one of the worst things in the world, to be out of lives and see that the other player has all of theirs... and those friggin jerks wouldnt give you one.

anyway, cant wait for the next one!
