Listen to what he said again, he's talking hardware and basically saying "It's probably coming to WiiU". The eShop would probably not help since the 3DS isn't that much more powerful than the Wii is.

@Sir Tobbii look at sonic colors, that game was more technically impressive than episode 2. They could also make it on the sonic generations 3d engine. Episode 1 was completely re worked for iOS devices, why not for the 3dS

Because the Sonic episodes are best described as Ferarris.

It's probably for the best, I wouldn't buy the damn thing if it did come out after wasting my money on episode 1.

WiiWare is basically dead and the Wii U is just around the corner, so this makes sense.

I'm honestly more upset you can't play as tails in single player. I realize he makes the game easy but they could design levels in a way that flying wouldn't help much or people can realize that the game doesn't force him on you(it's like if you play easy mode in a game and then whine about the game being too easy play on a higher difficulty or stop whinning)

There wouldn't be a problem if the Wii wasn't so inferior to everything else. I hope Nintendo doesn't make the same mistake with Wii U. It needs to keep up with the PS4 and Xbox 720, whatever they may be like.

People always say that sarcastically but considering Sonic Colours on Wii outsold Generations easily it might not be that far off. Sonic has done best on Wii but it has missed out on what - the last three games? Or is it four?

Of course Wiiware probably isn't as great for Sonic but Sonic dominated on VC.

"This guy is going to give you everything you ever wanted in your entire life"

So where is it for the Wii? I love how there is so much physics and graphics in this game that it run on your iPhone, iPad, Windows Mobile 7 but they couldn't put it into the Wii; oh, they did it for Sonic 4 ep 1 but Sonic 4 ep 2? Apparently, it was too hard; maybe for the Wii U

I'm sure it is probably something bout the memory restrictions Nintendo has for the shop but I don't know how this guy could keep a straight face saying that the Wii cannot handle it; seriously? the hardware could not handle this? As a programmer, I know that if you have the physics of a Sega Genesis game programmed, it isn't going to kill a machine like the Wii - I guess they just went all HD and didn't decide to downgrade for it. It's sad and I'm sure that all Nintendo fans who, you know, helped the Sonic brand survive via the Sonic Advance, Sonic Rush, Sonic Colors, Mario & Sonic at the olympics, etc, felt like they just got kicked in the crotch.

This is why Nintendo better make the Wii U be able to be close to the PS4 and 720 in power, I'm so tired of hearing "the Wii is just not powerful enough to have it, unfortunately"

Could be the size limitation of the WiiWare service. The limits are quite pathetic on it. Remember, Super Meat Boy couldn't be ported over either because of the size limitations and that game doesn't use 3D models.

Maybe they'll release Episode 1, 2 and Metal on an actual disc after they've been out for some time at a budget price. Then everyone is happy.

If you believe that the reason this is not on Wii because of power just go ahead sell all your consoles. No one can be a gamer and honestly believe this. If anything it's Wiiware size, and that the Wii is a dead system. So odds are no one would buy this on Wii. When there are 3DS games and saving for Wii U launch. It's not on PSP either who shares the same PSN network. They are not going to put it on a system that has not promise of current income.

@MiiDS

This kind of crap has to stop.

The phones do not have limits in space.

The guy says it's the power, but it's mostly the size.

And whether you guys like it or not, the mobile devices can output decent graphics.

Not to mention Sonic 4 Ep.1 used a different graphics and physics engine from what Episode 2 does, so bringing up "OH, EPISODE 1 WORKED, WHY NOT 2?" is totally irrelevant.

Regardless of what SEGA's given reason, it's probably too big (because people make games without thinking in restriction when making multiplatform, imagine that), the Wii is on its way out and nobody really uses WiiWare anyway.

Like TheWon said, it's not like it's on PSP or anything. I wouldn't be surprised if a complete Sonic 4 collection came to Wii U.

1. Holmes is the best.
2. Average Nintendo fans are warm and fuzzy enough to embrace mascot games more than average HD-twin fans. See: Colors vs. Generations single-platform sales.
3. It sounds like Ep4-2 will definitely be on Wii U.
4. I like "modern" Sonic games more than "classic" Sonic games.

Hey, just as long as it comes out on the Wii-U and still has the "lock on" stuff with Episode 1 (after transferring it over from the Wii) I'll be happy. ^^

Yep, the MAIN reason is the 40MB size limit. This time it's not their fault it's Nintendo.

Nintendo is at fault for this. Their extremely limited file sizes and their overall abandonment of WiiWare (and Virtual Console, and to an extent retail very soon) means that they are already "done" and ready to focus on Wii U.

Xenoblade and Last Story were fortunate, but extremely limited at retail flukes for us. I think Disney's Epic Mickey 2 will be the last truly dedicated title for the Wii from any company when this Fall comes around, and even that is getting ported to the 360/PS3.

There's no one to blame here but Nintendo. Their limit is ridiculous and these developers shouldn't hold themselves back just because Nintendo has an absurd file size limit.
