Yeah, the GBA version's graphics were almost completely redone in terms of battle graphics. SNES looked way better. It's a real shame.

SNES version also didn't have the crazy slow down issues that plagued the GBA version.

the GBA version is the only one that we got in Europe...

the only real problem I have with it is the fact that the colors look so pale once played with the gameboy player attachement... that's true for most GBA games because they were trying to counter the lack of light on the original GBA screen.

Some games have an option to adjust the light but not this one... Still a awesome game though.

Tales of Phantasia needs a proper remake on the WiiWare or Wii U service.

Keep the single-strikes of the SNES version instead of the clunky combos of the other remakes.

Use your top-tier team and re-draw the sprites in proper proportions instead of super deformed style.

Get Nintendo to bug-test and localize the thing since Bamco evidently can't.

N-B will be back in the black in no time.

ToP GBA US version is the better version for playing on non-original GBA since it has a darker palette closer to the SNES release. But its still a shoddy port of the PS1 version all the same (worst thing is the Tales of World game released the year before on GBA ran far better, much faster battles, better music etc).

Funny the localisation is mentioned in the article but not the brilliant auto-spellcheck line in ToP GBA where Ragnarok (or would that be Ragnarök) was changed to Kangaroo.

I remember playing this and hating it compared to all the other Tales of games simply because Mint was constantly wasting her TP on Pow Hammer and would never do regular attacks to replenish it, so, by the time I needed healing, she'd only have 1 or 2 TP.

We didn't get SNES Tales in the US either. Or the PSX one :?
