The following information comes from a hands-on feature with a demo of the eShop version.

- demo shows the first stages of the game
- starts off in a jungle with a waterfall
- shoot with A, short jump with B and high jump with Y
- there's a big difference between the jumps
- no touch screen use
- main goal in every level is to find the key that opens the end door
- the demo features a few enemies, but the main hazards involved jumping and falling blocks
- artwork looks like a mix between Cave Story and La-Mulana
- 3D will be used to show different layers

Seems similar to Cave Story with art style and everything! Hopefully it turns out to be good.

About that La-Mulana bit... where exactly IS that, anyway? If they've been taking this long, I sure hope it's being ported to 3DS as well or instead at some point.... otherwise, 1,001 Spikes does look kind of interesting, sure, but it does still make me wonder what's going on with LM for this long..

So wait, is this a port of "Aban Hawkins & The 1000 Spikes"?

That game's only $1 on the 360's Indie games.

I'm excited to see how much Nicalis overcharges for this.

Guess I should play the XNA demo.

@Sgt Scyther

lol, I was just about to tell you about this on Facebook. Way to kill my thunder.
