REPORT - Missing Nintendo of America employee found alive

EVERETT -- An Everett woman reported missing in early February has been found safe in Florida. Meara Lynn Nichols, 33, contacted family members, Everett police Lt. Robert Goetz said. Police in Everett were in contact with a Florida law enforcement agency, Goetz said. Nichols was reported missing by her husband after she left her home in the 6800 block of Commercial Avenue and didn't return. "She has not been talking too much about her reason for leaving," Goetz said.

She was probably in an abusive relationship. Either way, glad to hear she's OK.

Did she just up and leave her family without saying a word? I don't know her obviously but if that's really all there is to the story then that was a pretty scumbag thing to do if you ask me, but I don't assume to know the details. I can't get the source link to finish loading for the life of me so I'll read up more on this when I can. I'm glad that nothing harmful came her way though.

That's a pretty big and serious assumption to make. Maybe she was depressed, felt trapped in her job and/or family life, just had some bad medical news, suffered from some kind of episode, etc. There are many reasons someone might want to or feel they need to just walk out and keep going. Being in an abusive relationship is one of the least likely reasons IMO, since she'd have probably taken her child with her and gone to a relative or friend's house.

We should seriously stop depending on those machines.
That thing detects your nervousness, once asked a question, sometimes, your nerves get to you whether you are lying or not, while that machine detects the level of nervousness and draws it's conclusions from it.

Hooray for finding her alive and all... But just up and leaving like that, without telling people? Kind of a jerk move. I can only image the hell her family has been through over the past few months. And holy jeez, found in FLORIDA! She fled to the complete opposite side of the country!

I think polygraphs are seriously misunderstood. The machine doesn't draw conclusions, the operator does. As someone who has taken one, I can say that it definitely worked on honing in on a particular question I was emotional about. I wasn't lying when it came to that particular subject, and it wasn't automatically assumed that I was. The operator questioned further and determined I wasn't being deceitful, rather my body responded to something I was more sensitive to, but I could see how it would have been useful data had I been trying to hide something. It let the operator know that there was something I was nervous about, and he should further explore that line of questioning. Often we can lie convincingly, but it's harder for our bodies to lie. So if a husband suspected in the disappearance of his wife took a polygraph and was asked "did you murder your wife" it would be very telling if there was no significant response. Either he's a stone cold emotionless killer (unlikely) or he didn't do it.

@HawkYeah and the bigger problem is that it works the opposite way as well.
I could tell a bold faced lie and as long as i'm not nervous about it the machine wouldn't pick it up.

i don't care really if she was found or not, none of my business and she doesn't mean anything to me.

it is funny though how many of you became judges, judging her and her imaginary "motives" without even known her!

yeah yeah i know! you have the right to have an opinion and she put herself in that position giving you the right to comment on her personal life!

but i suspect this is the same way you comment about games?
