Now that digital releases are coming out, having an account with all your games on it is becoming more important than ever such as a Steam account. Imagine buying a lot of games on the 3ds and then that 3ds breaks. You lose all your games. Digital games/apps are tied to a particular system. I'm planning to buy a midnight purple 3ds soon, but then I'm gonna have to transfer everything over from my black 3ds instead of just having a simple single account. This also makes some people buy the same game multiple time just so they can have the game on a specific platform.

Digital/cloud based accounts. We dont/didnt know if these accounts will be tied to one particular system or if we can transfer our accounts over a replacement system.

That is absolutely hilarious. Never heard that.

Check out the E3 press conference the year the Wii was released. Fast forward to the part where Iwata was talking. I think it was right before he talked about WiiConnect24.

*Download for Super Mario Bros. takes 3 minutes, is 8mb
*Download of Strong Bad Episode 1 takes 12 minutes, is 40mb
*Download for Wii U game is 30gb, most likely will take 4 days

And I want to be able transfer from my Wii to the Wii U.
MoldyClay wrote:Honestly, I have no interest in downloading retail games to the Wii U unless it has a humongous harddrive. I hate spending more than $15 on any single digital good (and even then, depends). I'm not going to buy a $30-40 game I don't physically own, that's for sure.
MoldyClay wrote:It's cool for people who do care, but I only like the smaller digital downloads and that jazz. On the 360, I only buy XBLA games and DLC. Never "Games on Demand", nor do I install on the HDD.
But that's just me.
@KingBroly
In what world would a Wii U game be 30GB?
