Which Kirby games do you think will be on the disc?

Postby mbh911 » 22 Apr 2012 04:18

Time to play "which Kirby games will appear in the 20th anniversary Kirby collection disc"
I really hope nintendo adds more than just four games like the super mario all stars 25th anniversary Wii disc but it did also come with a soundtrack & art book. I assume Nintendo may add some cool stuff to go with the Kirby disc?

I don't see this Kirby collection going over $39.99 and hopefully much lower since I am sure a lot of gamers have boughten the old Kirby games. I wonder if this Kirby collection will only have the Kirby console games and not any of the hand held versions of the Kirby games. However, if nintendo were to release a 3DS Kirby collection of hand held games then I would most likely pick that up as well.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Kirby_games

So anyone got any guesses or thoughts on what Nintendo will add to the Kirby 20th Anniversary Disc and maybe other goodies?

I think Kirby's Dream Land will be on it since it was Kirby's first game. Maybe Kirby's Adventure since it introduced his copy ability.

But whatever they choose, I'll be pumped up for it. :ymca: :pbj:

My guess is that it'll be all the main series games, so:

Dream Land
Dream Land 2
Dream Land 3
Adventure
64
Super Star

But, then again, I think Nintendo wouldn't put that many games on the disc, so maybe just the first three Dream Land games and Kirby's Adventure.

I think there will be a maximum of 4 games on the disc. I'd be surprised if they did more then that. I'm not a huge Kirby fan so I don't know what they would put on there. In order for it to catch my eye, it would have to include both Crystal Shards and Superstar.

Kirby's Adventure
Kirby's Dream Course
Kirby's Avalanche
Kirby Super Star
Kirby's Dream Land 3
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
Kirby Air Ride

I'm thinking these. :P

Exactly! I really wish nintendo goes crazy and just add a bunch of Kirby games. I would also love if nintendo add some extras like concept arts, jukebox with tons of Kirby music, maybe some trivial/facts stuff about the history of Kirby and how about the Kirby mini-games? It would be nice to have all the Kirby mini-games in one section after player comes across one of the mini-gamss like the "Quick Draw" or "Crane Fever" etc. There is so many http://kirby.wikia.com/wiki/Sub-game Kirby mini-games

I WISH Nintendo would at least add 1 Nintendo 64 Kirby game to the collection but I have the feeling that nintendo won't but I would love for Nintendo to prove me wrong. I think the last time Nintendo added a Nintendo 64 game to a disc collection was Zelda Ocarina of Time & Majora's Mask from the Zelda Collector's Edition http://www.zeldawiki.org/The_Legend_of_ ... on#Content

You say that as if there was more than one. Crystal Shards was the only Kirby game on the N64.

He's talking about the unfinished Air Ride project for the N64  Just kidding, but it would be cool that they would put something about the scrapped works from the games.

My dream collection would be:

Three Dreamlands
Adventure
Super Star
Crystal Shards
Amazing Mirror
A special Boss Rush
And a Meta Knightmare.

Why would they only be able to fit four games on a Wii disc? Haven't you guys heard of the Gamecube Sonic/Megaman collections? They fit so many games on the 1.4 GB disc, imagine how many a 4.7 GB Wii disc can hold!

Anyway I imagine Dream Land (maybe all 3?), Adventure, Super Star and Crystal Shards would be on it at least. I wouldn't be heartbroken if Super Star weren't, because of Super Star Ultra. It should have the GBA titles too. Maybe it'll have spin-offs like Avalanche as unlockables?

Probably mostly gonna be games I already own D: Unless they can fit Air Ride on it, I'm probably not gonna buy...

I actually own like no Kirby games.

I own Epic Yarn, Mass Attack and the GBA remake of Kirby's Adventure. I used to own Air Ride and I regret selling it now.

I've played at least two of the Dream Land games, Super Star (and beaten everything), the original Adventure and rented/completed Kirby 64. Just never owned them, so depending on the titles, I have every reason to get this.

In a perfect world, it'd be all the main Console and Handheld games before Wii and DS. Including Air Ride.

In a logical world, it'll just be all of the games on the Wii Virtual Console.

In a terrible world, it'll just be a couple of games with spin-offs taking place of main series games.

And in an atrocious world, they'll just put Kirby Super Star on a disc for $30-40 and sell it as is.

Do you think Nintendo will "cheap" out and just re-release Kirby Super Star with a Pink Classic Controller or horrible sound music/sound cd like they did with Mario?

Personally, I don't have too much to worry about, since all of the Kirby games that I've wanted to play, I've already bought.
Can Nintendo re-release Kirby's avalanche? It wasn't even made by Nintendo or Hal.
There was also Kirby's Dream Course (which I still haven't beaten), and Kirby's Dream Land 3, which many people have never played or heard of (probably because it was released when N64 and Playstation were hot).

More importantly, why didn't Nintendo celebrate Donkey Kong's 25th and 30th anniversaries??

You guys really need to stop talking and thinking as if Nintendo is developing this instead of HAL. HAL is a little more...meticulous than Nintendo. After all, this is the company where Masahiro "Apparently He Takes Too Long To Make Video Games???" Sakurai came from.

HAL likes a lot to make either references from other games or their own, but I don't know what to expect an anniversary collection from them. I liked a lot that they added more features to Super Star Ultra, and made more cameos from the treasures in Great Cave Offensive. So I hope they add something new in the disc, or some extras like... I don't know... a Behind the Scenes, or an anime feature?

Wait... Kirby games with a lot of other game references... Kid Icarus with a lot of other game references... OH I see a pattern there!

Yeah; given that they have to make something, since they don't have a preexisting game collection to port the way Nintendo did, it's more than likely that they're gonna add some detail to it since it is HAL.

These Halcandrans sure love their references! I mean, have you looked into Mass Attack? That game is so rife with references to random as all heck HAL games* that it blows Kirby Dream Land 3's Hyper Zone references right out the water.

* they are not so random once you look into the staff of those games and realize they have some crew members in common with Kirby, especially in the sound department...

Dream Land 3
Adventure
Super Star (hopefully it'll be Super Star Ultra, or both)
Dream Course
64
Air Ride

What I'm expecting:
Kirby's Dreamland
Kirby's Adventure
Kirby's Dreamland 2
Kirby's Dreamland 3
Kirby 64
Since they all have a story arc with eachother, you could say. Well, maybe not so much Adventure.

I'd love to see is something else mixed in there, maybe Superstar (Collectception), some of the spinoffs.

And I see people mention Air Ride a lot... which would be cool too, but difficult.

New Play Control Air Ride? :)

My guess is that it has:

MAIN GAMES
Kirby's Dream Land
Kirby's Dream Land 2
Kirby's Dream Land 3
Kirby's Adventure
Kirby Super Star
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards

SPIN-OFF GAMES
Kirby's Pinball Land
Kirby's Avalanche
Kirby's Dream Course

Air Ride would be a nice inclusion but I somehow doubt it. Kirby Tilt n Tumble would be awesome if they could find a way to implement the motion controls by moving the Wii remote but I doubt they'd take the time to do that. I'm also not sure if I should expect GBA games or not. Nightmare in Dream Land, for example, is mainly just a remake of Kirby's Adventure. Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, on the other, is a completely original game that not a lot of people got to play (myself included).

Consider my mind blown if they actually released Dream Land and Dream Land 2, since they're Gameboy games.

In my mind, they wouldn't because:
1. They've never put handhelds in a console collection before (SEGA has, though).
2. They wouldn't want it competing with the 3DS VC releases.

Similar to how the Zelda collection only contained Zelda, Zelda 2, OoT and MM, but didn't have A Link to the Past or the Gameboy games. A Link to the Past was available then on GBA, but was easily one of the most popular titles and should've been in the collection.

On the other hand, Nintendo had no problem releasing NES Classics: Metroid and Metroid Zero Mission, which CONTAINED NES Metroid, and this was shortly after METROID was available through Prime as well.

So who knows?

My money is the Dreamland Series. Minus Return to Dreamland of course... but I think it's the reason they'd put the Dreamland Series in the compilation. So you can enjoy it from start to ... current finish?

Under normal circumstances I'd say there's no chance for them but Kirby's Dream Land was Kirby's first game. It seems ridiculous to me to make a compilation disc celebrating his 20th Anniversary and not including the first game he was featured in.

Then again, this is Nintendo. The guys who celebrated their biggest franchise's anniversary by slapping an SNES game on a Wii disc (and not even the one that included Super Mario World) so who knows?

pretty much why reading any article about this disc is a chore: people going "oh well this is nintendo i shouldn't get my hopes up"

nope this is HAL, they pay attention to detail, absolutely get your hopes up.

My exact thought. They can't include them, unless they emulate them through Super Gameboy.
Anyway, I guess that the disc will have only the SNES spin off games. Unfortunately, a cheap anniversary celebration like Mario's 25th All-star disc.
