If it were the same version for both consoles, then it would be pointless to make them, don't you think? The main idea is that with having both versions they can interact with each other in some way. I know it may suck for people who stick with only one, but that is their problem: they get the game that better suits them, either the 1-player experience of the 3DS or the multiplayer for the U. And if you want both, then save money for the other console and the game, it's as easy as that.

Sorry to say, but for a lot of people (more than you would think), it ISN'T just "as easy as that". Not everyone can AFFORD a 3DS and a Wii U, let alone two different versions of a game.
But beyond that, I think you answered your own question: "If it were the same version for both consoles, then it would be pointless to make them, don't you think?" Yes. That was basically my point. There doesn't need to be nor in my personal view SHOULDN'T be more than just the Wii U version of the game. It's incredibly unnecessary, and while I am never one to dog on Nintendo like some of the trolls in here do, I have to say, THIS specifically seems like nothing more than a money grab.
Me personally? I'd rather just have ONE version of the game on Wii U, with everything in one place. That's not too much to ask. Getting a Wii U version that (could very well) have truncated, watered down single player content, because they feel like putting that on the 3DS version only....is lame. I don't want a game with it's features split in two over two consoles. I want one game with all of it's features in one disc, as it should be. They could do it for Brawl. Why not "Universe". THAT is my point.

I've seen the whole console-handheld thing being done before and I don't see any innovation in it or how it could add life to a series. I think Surai or whoever needs to take a risk and add something really cool and new.
