@bellboy

well we should care, because developers and publishers may take this into account, I would absolutely hate it if most games released in the near future concentrated on graphics above all else. I know such titles exist but thankfully they are still in the minority.

this is one of those few times where I'm thankful that nintendo don't follow the crowd.

Best part of E3 are the disastrous presentations. Sadly, I'll miss most. At least there is YouTube.

I felt last years E3 was pretty piss poor from all three companies. Wii U was not impressive, to much Kinect, and Sony was just boring.

I want to see some Unreal Engine 4, Diablo 3 for consoles (I wish), hopefully a strong Nintendo Online Network that convinces me to buy the product, and some more 3DS games.

Well, like myself, most Nintendo fans left IGN when the Nintendo team attacked their readers, calling the Wii "stupid" and talking down to their readers. I know IGN cleaned house after that, but I'm still not ready to give them a second chance.

PS:I don't like visiting any site owned by Fox News Corp.

@motherbra1n

Actually, some western developers only take IGN's page into consideration, we have seen the rest showing info to Gametrailers, 1up, Game Informer, and GoNintendo.

It was a subtext in a lot of their reporting for a while but blew up on the Nintendo Voice Chat podcast a few years ago. It started with D. Hatfield calling the Wii "stupid", then the sentiment slowly bubbled up from the rest of the crew over the next month or so. They talked down to their users by saying things like, "Yah, this Ghostbusters game on Wii is okay, I guess, if you can't afford a 360." I'm paraphrasing, but things like that. Even the name of their podcast was a dig at the Wii for (at the time) not having any voice chat. Just rude, disrespectful and immature all around.

"We are not announcing PS4 or XBOX720 this year"
IGN Readers - Cant wait to see the new Playstation and Xbox!

"Microsoft will be focusing on services and Kinect at E3 this year"
IGN Readers - Best conference of the year! GO MICROSOFT

what is wrong with the world
I would be excited to see PS4 shown, but the PRESIDENT OF SONY said that there would be no PS4 at E3: http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/10/sonys-kaz-hirai-no-playstation-4-at-e3/

Microsoft has also gone on the record to say things like this. WAKE UP IGN READERS

You have to understand others before you are to be understood.

I take a look at my son and his friends who are all 13. they think the wii is stupid. they all love xbox live.
I love nintendo. i own every U.S. nintendo system. I have couple world records still.
People just don't like the Wii and I "Get" their criticism.
Wii became its own brand. The term Nintendo seems foreign now. It's different than prior initiations.

I can only imagine that this sentiment is represented in every school, every state and every major media source.
The 360 is the most popular system right now.
Many of the people who grew up with nintendo like me in our late 20's - 40's abandoned the wii.
This is also why it's great to be the underdog, it's great to be on the outside looking in and great for
this fantastic site, gonintendo.

If the games come, people will come back. Games IMO are equal parts gameplay and visuals.
Nintendo was always the graphical pioneer each generation from the beautiful mario 3 to the mode 7 effects of final fantasy to mario 64 to rougue squadron.

We've reached the point of diminishing returns with visuals. Mario in HD will be incredible unless
we find a way to make out eyes see higher resolutions.

"But Mario and Zelda!" gets old after about 15 games. Never liked Pikmin.

Can't wait for GTAV personally.

"Indifference to good software"? No intelligent gamer would be capable of saying that with a straight face. Full stop.

I would be interested in seeing the PS4 or 720 too, but I doubt there will any real coverage of them.

I'm equally excited for The Last of Us and Halo4, both seem great so far.. Nintendo hasn't confirmed any interesting 1rst party titles so far.

The graphics thing doesn't bother me much, I guess if I had to choose I would say I'm interested in seeing coverage of more new games, but good looking games are always nice.

ACIII is not really on my radar, so I agree there, GTAV is definitelly the game I'm most anticipating.

And finally, MS and Sony ussually do better yes, but depending on what games Nintendo unveils plus more explicit news about the WiiU power, on-line and launch line up, I think Nintendo could take it this year.

Indeed. NintendoWorldReport is awesome, as is their podcast. Most game journalists nowadays are completely incapable of reporting on anything Nintendo related due to complete bias and a shocking lack of knowledge in general.

So, they want better graphics but they don't care about the most powerful console at E3? Makes sense...

Also, Nintendo will unveil Wii U in its entirety and show lots of games for this new innovative console. They will also show new games for 3DS, a fresh and well selling console.

Sony and Microsoft will show stuff for old consoles, and Sony will probably show some games for their not-so-well selling Vita.

And they still think Sony and Microsoft are MORE interesting and that the latter will win E3? Makes sense...

Well not to hate, but all Microsofts big reveal last year was halo 4 through 6. I don't care how much of a fan you are, if Nintendo told us they have 3 zelda's planned for the Wii U I wouldn't be happy. If Microsoft has a console reveal up their sleeve or something, colour me interested.

@Sir Ridley

TBH if PS4 and XBOX720 were at E3, they'd probably blow WiiU out of the water (probably). But they're not. Not in full, at least.

It would be in Sony's best interest to excite people about the Vita (I know they have to with me) and save PS4 for next year. Microsoft may sneak in a teaser, but they already said that their E3 is Kinect and services. Again.

Nintendo (and Sony, probably) are the only conferences to look forward to this year. Why IGN readers are excited for Microsoft, I really have no idea
