While I guess not a "true" cross-over...

Urban Champion + Super Smash Bros.

Although not a great game by any standards, Urban Champion always had some sort of charm--I think it was that you could fall into manholes and tried to avoid angry denizens who throw flower pots at you. You had to use your imagination a bit, but one can picture an over-exaggeration of a neighborhood fight.

With a Smash Bros. formula, the game would expand to be so much more. Fights could involve rumbles in the city streets, the suburbs, a construction zone, the sewers, rooftops, etc. and imagine all the obstacles that you would need to avoid or use to your advantage. (I'd imagine it'd be similar to Power Stone in some respects.)


(Note: I wouldn't want Smash Bros characters vs. Urban Champion...er, fighter guys. Only that Urban Champion could use a more interactive environment like Smash Bros.)

I don't want any serious crossovers. I'm fine with smash brothers, because they are supposed to be toys, but I don't want a serious crossover that intertwines the stories/universes.

I am, however, not opposed to sports games getting all Nintendo characters. I would like "Nintendo Kart" or "Nintendo Racing" where you play as not only Mario characters but as characters from the other Nintendo franchises. (i.e. Link races on the back of Epona, Olimar is on a space ship, Kirby is on the warp star, etc)

EarthBound+Mario RPG because I think it's the only way the Mother series can get green-lit for other territories.
Kirby+Starfy because cute pink blob + cute yellow star = cold hard cash.
Fire Emblem+Golden Sun might be too redundant with gameplay and themes/settings/characters. Fire Emblem+Advance Wars on the other hand...

Last but not least, a Mario+Donkey Kong platformer. It seems so obvious yet it's still elusive...

Oh lord no. That sounds too much like Sonic R, which ended up being... ridiculous. I wouldn't be surprised if they all ended up in an adventure game though.

That's because Sonic R did it ridiculously. Game mechanics would either be the same or extremely similar to mario kart with my idea that I presented. Heck they don't even have to be in their game appropriate thing, they could be in a kart that is designed specifically off of what their game is from (think more along the lines of Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing....except having the polish and refinement of Mario Kart)

Kirby & Mario. I would love me a platforming game between most of the characters from both series. The idea of power-ups from Mario games mixed in with all the abilities Kirby could take in his world, and not to mention the swallowing contest players could make out of Kirby and Yoshi being together alone would make for some crazy shenanigans.

even though they share a lot of similarities in gameplay (which is what makes them both so amazing), the two universes are completely different.

It's almost like a crossover with star wars and lord of the rings, it would never ever work ever.

Zelda and Fire Emblem all the way. It'd be great for a couple reasons:

1) Building an army made of various Hyrulean tribes would be awesome. Imagine having Gorons, Zoras, Sheikah, Gerudo, and Hylians all fighting for a common cause. People have dreamed about this sort of thing happening with a Zelda MMO for as long as I can remember, but it would work just as good if not better here.

2) It could give Nintendo a chance to elaborate a little bit on the various wars that have occurred throughout Hylian history! Like the Great Flood, Interloper/Imprisoning War, etc. These are stories that Zelda fans, including myself, have always wanted to explore in greater detail, and this would be the perfect opportunity to do so. It just fits!

I want Mario + Luidgy + Peach + Wario + Donkey kong + Diddy kong + Yoshi to be playable characters in a plateforme adventure crossover game with multiple short kameos characters like Sonic, Kirby, Alex Kid, Wonderboy, Megaman, Kid Icarus, Spyro and Crash Bandicoot.

In addition to having possibly the most conveniently similar names ever, that could actually work really, really well. I imagine it might be structured a bit like Little King's Story, where you send smaller numbers of more specialized characters to do certain tasks, instead of spamming 50 Pikachus at a big monster.

I also think it would be cool to see another Square/Nintendo pairing for a Super Mario RPG style game but with actual Square Enix cameos (FF, DQ, Chrono characters).

And man (this isn't really a crossover), what about a Zelda with heavier rpg elements, or even...Paper Legend of Zelda...whoa.

Mario and Donkey Kong Adventure where they team up to stop Bowser and King K. Rool. Tired of this Mario vs. Donkey Kong crap and the only good one of those was the first GBA version.

Not sure if this one counts, but it's been one I've had for years.

Pokemon with Skyrim/Oblivion gameplay. Imagine being able to run around in a full 3D world filled with pokemon and trainers you can battle. You could also have different sidequests given by guilds (Fire pokemon guild, grass pokemon guild, etc.) and a storyline of stopping Team Rocket from their evil deeds.
