I'm going to actually try the controller before complaining that it's bad. ^^; I mean, it looks like a regular controller. I am a little picky with analog sticks sometimes, though, and I'm hoping they'll be nice and thick like the Gamecube controller's. I thought the Wii Classic Controller's analog sticks felt a bit awkward? Maybe that's just me.

It looks pretty good to me. I'm glad they made a new regular controller. I would prefer the buttons above the right analog, but I'll just have to try it out to see how it feels. I am a little disappointed that it doesn't seem to have the octagon shape around the analog sticks though.

Honestly, I love how they shaped this thing after the 360 controller--It's probably the most comfortable controller ever made, hands down. Guess we'll see how the different button layout affects things ergonomically, but for now I like what I see!

I do have to wonder though, since they didn't mention yesterday, if the old Classic controller will still work on the Wii U. I'm assuming since it can read the Nunchuck and both plug into the Wiimote that it would, but...

Sorry. But no. Most comfortable controller ever? Hardly.

The Classic Controller Pro design is fantastic. Why mess that up by making something that is literally a Xbox 360 controller?

I am guessing this will be like the PS3 controllers, and rechargeable by USB? I didn't know the controllers worked like that, lol, until I bought a PS3. It works out nice, though, and has a long charge. I am guessing 360 controllers are the same way...charge for a bit, and go. No need for AA batteries.

It gets kind of confusing, with the names. The Gamepad is what they call the touchscreen controller, that they have been pushing since last E3, as new, amazing, and innovative. The Pro is what they announced yesterday in the Direct broadcast, that looks like a 360, bat-wingish controller. You can actually see the Pro, on the Gamepad, in that trailer.

But, yeah, the trailer focuses on Gamepad (touchscreen) gameplay. The actual Pro controller isn't seen, but is mentioned, and may actually be what the other player(s) are using. I do not actually know, and you never see what they are using for the co-op gameplay.

Yeah, I know about that, I was referring to Watch Dogs (or something like that). I couldn't tell if the controller the guy was using was a 360 or a Wii U Pro. It would be nice to know, seeing as the game looks too good to be on this generation and it would also be another great addition to the Wii U's library.

I am very happy Nintendo decided to release a Wii U Pro controller. My only worry about the system was losing support of the Gamecube controller, specifically the wavebird. Sure, classic controller pro is fine and all, but it is not wireless. It appears this controller will be wireless and function just like the wii u game pad, just without the screen. I have heard some people complain it won't be comfortable with the analog placement, but how can you judge something before you even have a chance to try it? This will be perfect for Smash Bros. ^_^

Sorry! Just saw that game, and wow...blown away by the graphics. Trying to get to their website, and it seems to be down. Like you, I am curious what machine this is running on, because my jaw dropped when it went into the gameplay portion, as he was walking down the street. Looked like movie footage.

But, sorry about the mixup...don't know which controller...I'll go with what gtt said, that is was most likely running on PC.

Makes no difference to me. If they think they can't make clickable circle pads, then I'm all for traditional analog sticks.

I'm interested to know how they got the non-notched analog sticks they're using now......Nintendo had the patent on the octagonal design, and I assume Sony and Microsoft have their own patents on what their using.

Maybe there's more than one way to skin a ca---aww, I just made myself sad.

well at least if you are copying a controller you can do it like Nintendo, and not like Sony.

It states on official Nintendo website, on the Wii U console info page, that you can use Wiimote add-ons like the Nunchuk AND Classic Controller. If true, that solves the problem for me, as if I really feel the need to use one, I can still use the Classic Controller Pro I just recently bought (and love).

OK, I had to look this thing up to see if it was actually real or not, and found out it is, and costs $40. This could be more poorly designed than the PS3 Boomerang controller. Including the price of the move controller thats 90 US Dollars!! Wonder if it works with Riiidge Raaaacer?

That is good to know...they never expressly mentioned whether the CC Pro would work in the Nintendo Direct, or yesterday at the conference. Thanks!

And yeah, that steering wheel is horrible.

Just to clear some of the confusion. Watch Dogs was running on a PC and the guy was using a 360 pad. You can clearly see the colored XYBA buttons.
