Ah, there's so many. I can only choose one? The greatest Nintendo moment in my life would have to be Cambodian New Year's seven years ago. On a festive spring evening in the suburbs, city lights dot the hills. My nieces, nephews and about a dozen of their rowdy teenage friends instantly took to my GameCube. They pop in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. Banana peels are left behind and shells fly. Raucous laughter fills the night air. I greet them. The crowd turns around, raise their controllers and return the favor in unison, “Hey!”. They make me feel like I work behind the scenes at Pixar. I ask them to help me carry my things to the car. They’re more than happy to oblige. I leave my GameCube, knowing it will be in better hands.

The greatest Nintendo moment in my life
Most likely this would be playing Mario Party 7 with my family. For many years in my life, I had never met the majority of my mother's side of the family due to the cost of travel, because we live many, many countries apart from each other. It was such a pleasant surprise to know that my three half-brothers were also very enthusiastic about video games when I met them in person for the first time. During my first vacation in their homeland, we would occasionally play one of my brother's games, Mario Party 7, together. It was during those times that I discovered the true joy of really doing something you love with those whom you love. It was a very memorable experience and it is part of the reason why I enjoy the Mario Party series so much.

My greatest Nintendo moment would have to be back in the early 90's with the SNES & Super Mario World. My brothers & I would get up early on the weekends just to try squeeze in a couple more hours of game time before the daily chores or responsibilities came knocking. As fun as the game was, and it was fun, the best part was discovering secrets, doing impossible speed runs, & destroying the Koopalings castles one by one with my brothers at my side. I'd have to say all my favorite Nintendo moments were early in the mourning, before the sun came up, bundled up in a sleeping bag taking on the evil Koopa with my brothers. I'll never forget the moment Bowser met his end & went down in flames atop his castle. The reward for doing so made my jaw drop. I can honestly say the re-themed second play through of Super Mario World blew my mind, blew my mind! The whole awesome experience was made all the better by the bonding it provided for my brothers & I. This goes down not just as my favorite Nintendo moment, but as one of my favorite memories ever.

The greatest Nintendo moment in my life:

The time I stood up for myself for being a Nintendo fan. OK so I went alone to the mall to my first official Pokemon Tournament event. I had hopes to battle among the best but I knew full well my pokemon weren't ready :( so I just instead watched the matches, downloaded my Celebi for Emerald, and checked out the Pokemon activities they had set up. Well as I was minding my own business I began hearing a few shouts that were directed to me. I was in an open area on the bottom floor where people from the second floor could look down. So looked up a few times unable to spot them, but when I finally did I knew they were from my school just by their looks. They were ridiculing me for being at a "kiddy" Nintendo event so it seemed. They kept hiding behide a pillar like cowards so at the most opportune moment I snuck away. Little did they know I went to the second floor and was right behide them, just glaring at them. The moment they looked behide I scared the crap out them and they went running off. One of them even tripped over one of the mall's trash bins which made the moment even more sweeter. So for the rest of the evening I got to enjoy my time at the event and watch the finals on some huge TV screens. (*Lugia vs Ho-oh  ) I'll never forget that day for as long as I live. ^_^

I have loved Nintendo my entire life. Ever since I was a young child, I was drawn to the worlds that Nintendo had crafted and would spend every opportunity I had exploring them. My most cherished Nintendo memories took place when I was 4 or 5 years old, with my father playing through NES games as I watched on in wonder. I remember the time he used the infinite 1-up trick in level 3-1 of Super Mario Bros. as a metaphor to teach me and my siblings a valuable life lesson. I, of course, do not remember the lesson, but I remember how amazed my little 5 year old brain was at his wisdom. I once sat next to him on a Saturday and watched him play The Legend of Zelda from start to finish, and I still have etched into my brain - to this day - which bushes to burn and where to place bombs to access the game's hidden secrets. I remember running to our neighbor's house around the block to borrow Super Mario Bros. 3 for my dad, just to watch him play it for hours upon my return. And I was happy about it! I loved watching him play that much. Every video game memory I've formed since then, whether it was entering the Deku Tree for the first time or paying (multiple times) to demo 5 minutes of Super Mario 64 or plucking my first Pikmin or waiting in line for hours to try out the Wii U, I cannot form without thinking back to my childhood and remembering where it all began. I will always have a place in my heart for Nintendo. And it's all thanks to my Dad.

You are right, I went back last second to add a color because I thought just saying "Pikmin" was somewhat lackluster. Should have gone with my gut! Good thing I just picked up Pikmin 2 for the Wii, my memory apparently needs a refresher.

My greatest moment was when I played Paper Mario TTYD on gamecube. That is my most memorable experience, because it was and still is my favorite game of all time. I got it on christmas morning, and I was super excited to play it. And as I begun to play the beginning, right as I started to meet the very charming characters, I knew I loved this game. I have beaten it so many times.

I would like Super mario bros 3 if i win, wii code to come through edit later

The greatest Nintendo moment in my life began when I got my hands on Yoshi's Story for the Nintendo 64. I had to be around 6 or 8 when I first played it with my older sister. But anyways, the best moment from the game was when you just turned on the N64 and the red light appeared, and then, a Yoshi would always say "Nintendo". It bought joy to my young, little body and as soon as I finished a level, all of the Yoshi's would start singing a song. I still do not know what they are saying to this day. Also, after beating the game, the screen would get brighter and me and my sister would always cover up our eyes as if we could see the light in real life. We was really lame back then

My greatest Nintendo moment would have to be playing Donkey Kong Country on SNES. I loved playing it. I would come home from school and play it all day. I got in trouble at school once and my mom took away my SNES. I got it back eventually. I would take turns with my niece, my sister, and her boyfriend at the time playing. One day when i was playing with my niece we heard a gun shot and it turns out my sister's boyfriend had shot himself in the foot with a concealed gun he had in his pants. The gun must have just gone off. He was taken to the hospital and my niece was crying and didn't want to play anymore. I tried to comfort her but she wanted to leave. I was fine because I was playing Donkey Kong.

My greatest Nintendo moment had to be when I didn't realize it at first. I was given a purple Gameboy colour for my birthday in October, and just a simple game that was a Red cartridge (because my mom knew it was my favourite colour). Over the months I got quickly attached to the game. So many pictures, catchy music I still find myself humming on occasion, an excellent battle system I never thought could be broken in my youth, and a Squirtle that I poured my heart and soul into (and taught Bubblebeam as soon as I got the TM from Misty, d'oh).

Pokemon Red can't really be described as a moment. That game encompassed a lot of my childhood and then some. I'm looking at it now in a purple Gameboy Advance, fearful of the battery inside is ticking down (Pokemon Gold already died on me). I'm hoping I can soon get a Mega Memory Card or something similar to backup my save data, and not too long afterwards to a USB gameboy cartridge which can then get my save data transferred to a computer, so I can always keep my team of Blastoise, Mewtwo, Moltres, Muk, Snorlax and Articuno, and the 184 hours I put in to making my team the strongest (via hacking infinite rare candies, catching MissingNo. without screwing up my game and destroying my friends with Level 142 Snorlaxes which were also caught with infinite master balls).

Go to the Old Man in Viridian City. First say no. Then hit yes as he shows you how to catch a Pokemon. Then, immediately fly to Cinnabar Island. Surf on the East side of the island. You will encounter MissingNo. or ~M. Afterwards, you will have an infinite number of the item in the sixth slot of your bag.

Good times with that game. Some great times.

So many good memories with Pokemon, but it seems that has been amply hit upon. :)

For me, a moment that really stands out, as strange as it sounds, is related to Link's Crossbow Training. I think I ended up getting the Wii Zapper as a gift, and I was excited to try it out, because I never experienced the original Zapper. Zelda branding made for the perfect pack-in. So I fired it up one day and tried the first couple of stages. It was pretty fun, but I ended up leaving it alone for awhile.

Then one day, my cousin and long-time gaming buddy was visiting overnight. We were looking for something to play together, and I got the great idea to break out the Zapper and let him try it out. That's when things got interesting. I popped in Crossbow Training, and there was no looking back. He liked it so much that we ended up getting completely engrossed in the game, trading off on stages, sort of competing, trying to best our scores over and over. Mostly though, it was a cooperative effort, and when we discovered that Platinum medals were attainable, we didn't stop until we got Platinum for every stage. All of them. Nonstop. We didn't get much sleep that night. But the sense of comraderie we felt was something to behold.

A couple years later, in my college dorm, we saw my Zapper hiding amongst my gaming stuff, and instantly, waves of nostalgia hit. Apparently we both cherished that experience so much, we did it again.

There are a lot of moments that could be considered my favorite Nintendo moments, but "greatest" is a bit harder to cover. In fact, when I read the contest description, only one moment came to mind.
My freshman year of college I was the video game guy on my dorm floor. A hipster had his old school SNES, but I had a Gamecube. In the Spring, I picked up a copy of Mario Kart: Double Dash; the greatest racer I have ever played. I breezed through the 50cc & 100cc Grand Prix, but it took me a bit to complete the 150cc. Then came Mirror Mode. I was able to finish the Mushroom and Flower Cup by myself, but Star and Special were too much for me. That's when I had to bring in reinforcements.
A friend of mine on the floor, Jon, was also a gaming geek. He was the only one who could beat me at Super Smash Bros., so I knew he would be the perfect guy for this. Me as the driver (Luigi) and him as the attacker (Yoshi), we took the Star cup by storm and cleared it our first try. The Special Cup would not go down as easy. Three times we tried to defeat that monster, only to finish in second every time. Finally, on a particularly rainy afternoon, we sat down once more, picked up our controllers and set out to defeat the rubber-band AI. After more than a month of playing and practicing, it all paid off. We came in first every race. We won. We beat the computer at its own game. Our hands raised in victory, our spirits elated.
There are other gaming moments from my past that are my favorite, but this is my greatest because it is the first time I truly felt I triumphed over an obstacle because of skill instead of blind luck or chance.

Thank you so much for the opportunity.
I was 12 years old and I had a crush on this girl at school.
For weeks I wondered what to say to her and how to approach her. But to no avail I was too embarrassed. Then one day I saw her with a group of her friends outside class. To my angst, one of her friends pointed at me and then they all laughed. Including the girl I liked. I thought they were making fun of me. :(
That night I couldn't sleep. My mind raced with the horrible news that the girl thought that I was ridiculous or something.
The next day she came to my table at lunch. Shocked as I was I prepared for the worst. We never even exchanged hellos basically. "Hi Andrea" I somehow managed to say.

The unthinkable happened. She told me that one of her friends saw me with a Game Boy. That she had one too (!) That her father bought her one although she had no idea what to do with it. None of her girl friends had one and she really wanted to try Tetris in 2 which she heard was awesome.

24 hours later we were battling with our respective Game Boys using the link cable. We shared a sandwich and a box of raisins and became pretty good friends. People today need to know that the Game boy link cable is more romantic than wi fi and Bluetooth. Best times of my life.

My greatest Nintendo moment started when my mom was about to play a game of Duck Hunt. She was probably expecting a normal game, not suspecting that shenanigans were afoot.

You see, I was one of the few kids that actually read game manuals, so I knew that it was possible to control the ducks with a controller. So, I set things up for her, and stealthily took the controller for myself.

The first duck showed up, and she aimed for it and fired. A miss! She tried again. Another miss! Another try, another miss!

This went on for a few games, until I finally let her in on what was happening. She was kinda ticked, but it was worth it!

My favourite Nintendo moment? The day that I received my NES. I can't tell you exactly what day it was because the specifics escape me...but I was 4 years old and I got my NES in 1989. I remember coming home from school to my grandparents' place (me, my parents, my aunt, and grandparents all lived in the same house at the time) and almost immediately upon entering the house, my grandmother told me to "Go to the basement." This was pretty weird...I'd been told to go to my room before, but never the basement! I must've really messed up somehow...but I couldn't remember how. I asked why I had to go down there, and my grandma just said as stern as if she was actually mad, "Just go, don't ask questions."

Still confused out of my mind (and starting to get a bit upset), I opened the door to the basement and started to descend the stairs, trying to think of what the heck I did wrong exactly. Then I started to hear strange noises coming from downstairs...music and sounds that I'd never heard before. I walked down the rest of the way to see my aunt sitting in front of the TV playing around with some machine...and the music and noises were all coming out of the television, where a now-familiar plumber was jumping on goombas and smashing question blocks with his head. She saw me and kinda smiled as I sat down and asked what this machine was. "It's a Nintendo!" she said, and she handed me the second controller. My family had gotten me an NES with Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt...something I had never even heard of before that moment, but after sitting down and playing 2-player SMB with my aunt, I was instantly hooked!

From then on, I was a gamer. I feel like that moment alone helped to sculpt me into the person I am today, and although my family would sometimes get irritated that I spent so much time "playing that damn Nintendo"...I've always been thankful that they introduced me to what is now my absolute favourite hobby.

Preferred game: The Adventures of Lolo
My Wii Number: 6564 0120 8801 2753

There are a lot of cool stories on here so far...definitely keeping track of this thread to see what other recollections come up!

Mirr0r3flection and delpiero must register my friend code or I can't sent them prizes. The sooner you do this, the faster I can send out prizes. Make sure your Wii is plugged in. Make sure the friend codes you sent me are correct. I have registered both of your codes, but I'm waiting for the system to officially register the codes. Remember, only North Americans Wii owners can participate due to region lock.

Congrats to Mirr0r3flection and delpiero!

The other 2 winners to be announced later today.

There has been a lot of great Nintendo moments in my life. From playing ocarina of time for the first time to playing mario kart 64 with family, I had a fun childhood. The greatest moment for me that I hold very dear to my heart was playing Pokémon Yellow for the first time. I remember the moment very well. I was 4 years old. At that time, I enjoyed the Pokémon anime alot. One fateful day, my mother and I went to Kmart. In the electronics section, I saw the Pokemon Yellow game. After some crying and begging, my mother bought me the game with a matching yellow gameboy color. After she bought me the game, I immediately started to play and from there instantly became addicted. The game was so addicting that I couldn't stop. Training my pikachu and catching different pokemon was very fun for me. That same day I recieved my first gym badge from Brock after many failed attempts. I thought my pikachu's thundershock would beat his geodude just like the anime but I was wrong(I didnt learn after all those "It's not effective" messages). Thankfully more training made a female nidoran I caught learn double kick and I won the badge. From that day onwards I continued to play and also played with friends at school through the link cable. Now 14 years later, I still play Pokémon , have over 200 hours in my games and I never missed any main pokemon game. If I never got Pokemon Yellow I probably wouldnt have been into gaming. That game gave me interest to try other games(like the games mentioned earlier).I still treasure my Pokemon Yellow game and will treasure it always(I would also treasure my gameboy color but my mother threw it away after she bought me a gameboy advance). I'm very thankful for that day which got me into gaming and gave me my Pokémon addiction.

My Wii Number is 8786-3650-6904-9809

If I am chosen I would like to have Mega Man 2 has my game. I'm probably one in a few people who never played a classic Mega Man game.

Edit: I'm sorry I didn't notice the post that it is over. I only read the first post that saids the cut off was today at midnight. I still hope that I can still participate.
