Best Buy listing white/black Wii U

At E3, Nintendo said that the white Wii was confirmed for launch while the black one would come at a later date. As of right now, Best Buy has a listing for both colors. I've actually had people tell me they're going to wait for the black one before they purchase. If Nintendo wants big day one sales, they should split the colors!

Am I the only one that doesn't care what color my system is?

Black would be nice, but hey - I bought an 'Arctic White' GBA on the very first day of its release because that's all the store had. I'm not picky as long as the thing plays good. If I was REALLY that desperate and could actually afford a Wii U by then, I'd buy some spray paint to go with it. But I really don't mind. Puke-green will do if it's cheaper!

I don't see the big problem with offering both. You can still do bundles, colours and special editions later to grab people.

I bought Wii at launch despite wanting black because I was extremely excited for it. I'm not quite sold on Wii U yet, I know I'll get one at some point for exclusives, but there's nothing out of the gate I'm really interested in so I will probably wait for black.

The console itself isn't a concern for me, I just want that black game pad. If it's not available at launch, hopefully they atleast sell the black tablets themselves when it does release.

Nope, but it's nice to have some consistency between the colors of your systems, most of my handhelds are red, the only one I'm currently missing is a red 3DS.

meh, whatever color the launch system is, will be the color I get. Maybe one day down the line I'll pick up a black wii u gamepad so I can have a gamepad of each color, but again if all the they have is one color when that time comes, so be it.

I haven't decided yet if I would forego a launch day purchase if only white is available, but I too would much prefer a black game pad. Based on my experience with both a black and a white Kindle, I believe that a black border around the screen improves contrast.

I'll be picking up my console on day one so I'm stuck with whatever's available but if black is on tap, that's what I'm buying.

I have to say though, as visible as they made the black model at E3 (and seeing that it's currently plastered all over the OHP), it would be a cruel tease to not make it available at launch. With the Wii unveil, the other colors seemed pretty incidental and I wasn't expecting anything but black was on prominent display this time around, so... pwease, Nintendo :cry:

if there's only one color I will get what ever it is. if I have a choice I want the black one it won't get as dirty.

I look at my white Wii and it drives me crazy. Everything else in the living room is black. So yeah, getting a black Wii U is important to me. Since E3 killed my enthusiasm and put me off buying one anyway, I can wait. I know I'll want a Wii U when it has something better than mini game collections and lazy sequels, so I suppose I might get one earlier if black is available on day 1 at $250 or less.
