Honestly, this is one franchise I am more than willing to double dip with. Maybe it's cause GC was my first home console, maybe cause Pikmin was the first game I got, but something about those vicious little plants tug at my heartstrings every time.

I actually just found the first one used at Gamestop. It was only $17 so I picked it up.

I managed to find a copy of Pikmin 2 for GC 40$ at my Gamestop last summer in absolutely perfect, pristine condition - seeing as disc only goes for around 50$ + (or at least it used to at that time) I think it was a steal. Gamestop usually underprices used games though, so thats no surprise. Guess I got lucky :)

Excited about this new Wii version, but mostly for widescreen support, lol. Both control schemes are fine for me, I'd use both. 16x9 is a fantastic addition, pretty much the only reason I'll get it (and to support future Pikmin)

I never played this game! Need to try it!
You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.

I finally beat it this evening in 8:47, spanning 13 in-game days. Not bad, not bad at all.

Picked it up on Thursday. Like alot of people, I had to go on a scavenger hunt. It took 3 GameStops, 1 Best Buy and 1 Target (got it there) to find one copy. Also ordered a new copy of NPC Pikmin 1 8)

Thoughts so far (About 5 hours in): 1)I'm quickly reminded that I adore this series and... 2)The world needs more new things from Miyamoto.

I'm surprised people are having trouble finding it. I found a copy on the 10th first try, and there were three or four copies left on the shelf. Maybe it's selling out?

Pre-ordered Pikmin 2 on Amazon a week early before the release date and the game ended up in my mail box last Tuesday. So I'm happy to avoid that problem. And now after I played a little of it....I take back what I said. I loved the GC version, but this game's Wii controls are so smooth and I'm liking it a bit more right now.

It also makes me think how (so much) better Little King's Story could of been with pointer controls. :(

Got it last Monday after going through several stores and then BACK to the first one, getting the last copy (I wanted to get it at TRU because of the Buy One, Get One 50% Off deal, but they didn't have it; Checked other stores in the area and then had to go BACK to the Gamestop I started at because they had it. Just meant I didn't get a bonus Wii game for $10 D: ).

Never played Pikmin 2 originally. Skipped it for no reason, couldn't find it. Decided during the Wii era I'd pick it up, saw it was $40- Nope. NPC! announced, decided to wait for ours, never happened, finally decided ALRIGHT, $40 IT IS, then never happened and then FINALLY Nintendo Selects version came. Finally got it. For $20.

And unlike what RMC and Deux were saying on the podcast, I happen to think the game looks amazing. I don't know if that's because I use an SDTV and can't see the beautiful jaggies all over or something, but I think it (and the original) still hold up really well. Pikmin 2 looks better than most actual Wii games.

Played for 12 and a half hours, taking my time like nobody's business (as soon as I got Blue Pikmin, I went back to the first area and dedicated myself to completing it before moving on). I'm literally only a few Pokos away from 100% funds and I am about 17 days in and have 85 treasures.

Prior to getting it, I finally went back to Pikmin 1 on GCN and completed it (all 30 parts) and I now have a reborn love for the series. I was stoked when it came out, but got intimidated, lost interest, came back and got the bad ending, lost interest and never cared after that. Olimar in Brawl annoyed me, then I played him and was like HOLY CRAP, LOVE OLIMAR and wanted to play again but never committed to it. Pikmin 3 and Pikmin 2's rerelease got me pumped and my girlfriend basically got me to replay finally and now I'm like "Ah god... Pikmin... so good".

I took a break though because I am also juggling backlog. Kirby Mass Attack and Persona 1 on PSP. And Xenoblade, which I took a month off of for no reason.

Finally? Make it sound like a chore. D:

I feel like I'm going to slow, but I've been basically just laying back and enjoying it. And taking a lot of time in a few caves.

By beating it do you mean "Clearing the debt" or 100%?

Having recently beat the Game Cube version I just played through to clear the debt it took about 16 days and 7and a half hours! Yesterday I went for a walk and saw a skoal cap lying on the ground and I could see a swarm of Pikmin carrying it back to a space ship... Maybe I play too much Pikmin...

I like the little bits of humor, like how a bottle cap and giant diamond are both worth 100, and how you use a love tester as a radar.

It wasn't a chore. I just finally got the time to do it. And no, not 100%. 100% in 8:47 would be remarkable.

Damn, good thing my GameStop had this game.

I just tried it out and overall this is a really good game and reminds me of the first time I actually played it back on the GameCube. Good ol' times.

Just got this today. :)

I took advantage of the 2-for $30 deal at Toys R Us, though had to wait for shipping since the local store was sold out. Strange that a bargain-priced game is selling out like this, but when it's a re-issue of a relatively rare and expensive title, I guess it makes sense. I would assume Nintendo will take note of this and make more copies, as it wouldn't make sense from a business standpoint not to.
