In Melee, Mario had a cape from Super Mario World. In Brawl, he had Fludd from Sunshine. I'd bet from dollars to donuts that in this version, he'd have Luma.

That way we could have another castle-themed stage without it feeling too repetitive--which is why I'm guessing it hasn't happened yet.

In terms of quantity, we’ve probably already reached the limit of what’s feasible. I think a change of direction may be what’s needed.”
This makes me think that the next game will have 35 characters in it. Maybe even less.
Seriously, that quote is ANCIENT. And the picture makes me very, very happy.
EDIT: And again my character thoughts
- Toon Link will get cut in favor of Wolf Link w/ Midna
- Ike will get cut in favor of the new FE Protagonist

KingBroly wrote:CrispyGoomba wrote:I also think that Toon Link will get cut (Which is a shame), but I doubt Link w/ Midna will happen.
Simple Pattern Recognition:
#1: First N64 Zelda game: Ocarina of Time, had Child Link, appears in Melee
#2: First GC Zelda game: Wind Waker, had Toon Link, appears in Brawl
#3: First Wii Zelda game: Twilight Princess, had Wolf Link w/ Midna, ???

MoldyClay wrote:- How is Super Mario World the most recent Mario game before Melee? Did Super Mario 64 magically disappear? And what purpose would a Luma serve if he already has a Spin move? It wouldn't be a new attack, unless they added it to the animation. And Galaxy was already out before Brawl and announced the same time. They had no problem ignoring Galaxy entirely with Brawl, even though they had things from Twilight Princess and even the Gekko from MGS4 which wasn't out yet at all (and Melee had Roy, whose game was also not out yet).

CrispyGoomba wrote:Well, in his defense, Super Mario 64 didn't really feature an item or move that Mario could use. There was the wing cap, but that would be hard to deal with cause it is used to fly around. Now you can say "But Kirby flies!", however, that is definitely not the same thing. There was also the metal cap. But the Metal box is an item in the game. And lastly, there was the invisible cap, which would give Mario an unfair advantage for however long if it was in the game. If I forgot any other item/power-up used in SM64, well then call me dumb.
So I think they did good putting Fludd in there.

No I know, but the cape wasn't put in "because it was Mario's most recent game". It was just there because it worked. It wasn't promoting Super Mario World.
But yes, Metal Box was an Item, and while the Invisible Cap wasn't, the Cloaking Device was, which is the same thing.
Technically, they could've done both of those as a sort of dodge move (Metal would lessen damage from a hit if timed right; Invisible would just avoid a hit like the counters from Marth/Roy), but I am positive that Side+B could've been anything and Cape was only chosen because it was an iconic item. Could have just as easily been the Tanooki tail or something.
I mean, heck, Link retained the Boomerang, even though Adult Link in OoT never used it. It's just because it is iconic.
And honestly, I only think they added FLUDD to Mario so that they could make the differences between Luigi and Mario bigger (compare how they play in SSB up to Brawl and it is insane), though I am surprised they went for MARIO and not Luigi, adding Poultergust or something.
But if they add it NOW, he'll have a clone-ish move again. Unless Mario loses FLUDD, regains his spin move as a Down+B instead of an aerial (with the Luma) and Luigi replaces HIS spin move with Poultergust. Oh god.

Not really, they can make something similar to when a character is frozen, they can make a model of the character being stuck inside a ghost while moving.
Out of the Namco series, I would love to see Bomberman in the game. But since it was absorbed by Konami I believe most people want Simon Belmont more than the White Bomber...

Bomberman is from Hudson i think, but it`s not a Namco character.
Your idea could work through

I can see him regaining the spin attack as a special move, but Fludd is still part of Mario's games, you see its design often in the Galaxy games.
