Poll about Handhelds and Headphones

The reason I ask this is because I usually play with the sound off on a handheld, but with the 3ds's sound quality, I now use headphones whenever I play. So, what do you guys use?

Whether or not I have the sound on depends on what game it is and what my battery situation is. When I do want to hear the sound, I use headphones. Even the cheapest of headphones tend to have more range than the built in speakers.

I usually don't use headphones unless I'm listening to music on my 3DS or I have a hard time hearing the game.

It really depends on the situation, but the majority of the time I play without headphones.

It depends mostly on the situation and location. If I'm at home, I'll definitely play with headphones as much as possible, but when I'm somewhere else just killing time, I'll usually turn the sound off.

I normally play without headphones, but when I can't hear the game due to the surrounding noise I use my headphones. It really depends on where I'm playing and since it is usually in a quiet place then there is no need for them.

I don't play with headphones unless it's really noisy around me or they tell me to use them.
I guess it also depends on the game I'm playing.

I use headphones. Much better sound quality than what you'll get off the speakers, and enhanced even more for music games like Ouendan/Elite Beat Agents.

Yes, I use headphones. The speakers on the 3DS are not loud enough to satisfy my ears needs. xp

Nope, I don't use headphones. Just play the 3DS 'normally' with the music and sound effects playing full volume out the speakers.

Don't notice anything being too quiet other than maybe the music stored on the SD card in the 3DS sound app.

I only use the speakers if I'm showing someone a game or maybe if I'm playing local multi-player with someone. Otherwise I'll wear headphones. If it's worth listening to I'd rather hear it sounding it's best. Speakers on handhelds have never and will never sound good. I can't help feel it's annoying for other people to hear too.

Yes i do but not because the volume is too loud but because without them the volume is too low for my taste (especially when playing music when you need loud sound the most...)

It all depends.

Like, I literally do every option. Depends on where I am, what game it is, and what time it is.

If I am playing late at night, I'll use headphones for sure.
If I am playing a game with great music, or something like Rhythm Heaven, where I need to hear the beat, I actually plug speakers into it.
If my girlfriend and I are both playing different games, I will turn the sound down/off unless it's a game where I need the sound (so then I or she uses headphones).

As others have pointed out, this was a poorly conceived poll, since almost no one does just one thing (even in general.)

I usually play with no sound when I'm on the bus or walking around the city. Occasionally I use headphones in those situations for games that require audio (like Theatrhythm FF.) At home, I play with the system sound usually, although occasionally I'll play with headphones to get the best audio experience. Sometimes I even use a pair of powered speakers or a Slime speaker.

With my PS Vita, I use wireless bluetooth stereo headphones or a mono headset. I wish they had bothered to include a bluetooth radio in the 3DS so that we could use bluetooth headphones and headsets on it, too. If WiiU doesn't support Bluetooth either, that will be pretty depressing.

I usually play without headphones with sound on. If I don't want to bother anyone nearby, I'll use headphones (or turn the sound off if no headphones available)
