Pokemon Sixth Generation for 2014?

If you check Serebii today you'll find the CoroCoro revealed Genosect who is the last of the "Event only" Pokemon from the fifth generation of monsters. Assuming Ruby and Sapphire get remade (I'm assuming on the DS using the 5th gen engine) next year, then that means in 2014 the Sixth generation will be out for the 3DS.

Going on a slight tangent this means that the new playable Pokemon characters in SSB4 will more than likely be from the sixth generation. (Sorry Zoroark fans)

2014 it would be too soon to release another gen next year or even Pokemon Gray or Black and White version 3(hope no version 3 coming the thought of it is scary )for the main pokemon that is

A Pokemon remake for the Nintendo 3DS would be cool

I'd be happier with a remake than a next-gen of pokemon actually

We've been getting one set of pokemon games a year each year since 2009. I see no evidence to say we won't be getting a Pokemon game in 2013 and 2014.

It would certainly be interesting if they broke the mold this time and skipped the remakes. Seems to be their whole agenda this gen, doing things a little differently.

That said, I can see them saving the remakes for next gen. And of course the next gen would come sooner rather than later if that were the case.

True. There's still plenty of animals/sub-species of animals they haven't covered yet...among other things

Implying Trubbish himself was a bad idea. It's a bag of garbage, yes, but you're kidding yourself if you think that a heap of trash coming to life (which is what the pokedex says) isn't more creative than half of Gen 1's Pokemon.

And that's what always gets me when people rage about "Oh, running out of ideas. A living bag of trash? Snow on icicles to look like an ice cream cone? A Nazca line bird monster? How unoriginal!" (implying we've had these before) when I could probably talk to you for ages about how unoriginal and bland the first generation is.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure 5th gen has been rushed out the door for 6th gen since we're getting (in Japan) all 3 events the SAME year.

I could easily see a 6th gen Pokemon being in SSB.

This gen has been nothing but destroying my expectations on how they approach things.

Also, where's a 5th gen Ranger/Mystery Dungeon? >:(

I'm guessing they are skipping most side series games for 5th gen because they probably want to get a main series game out on 3DS soon. Especially since people know that they have had 3DS dev kits practically first.

Now, in my opinion, 5th gen was just a filler while we wait for 6th gen on 3DS.

Well, for what it is worth, Black and White were intended for release on DS from the beginning and came out in Japan LONG before 3DS hit. They were most likely too far along in the game to drop it and make it a 3DS game and add thrown together features to make use of it. It would've needed a huge delay, which wouldn't have saved the 3DS anyway.

I'm sure if Miyamoto was involved heavily in the series, it'd have been moved to 3DS/delayed. Or they would've pulled a Mystery Dungeon and had a DS one and a 3DS one.

Black 2 and White 2 were on DS because it was the same gen, compatibility, the install base for BW1 and the fact they *just* made those assets and it would've been a pain in the ass to change everything. It also seems like the sequels were planned ahead of time, so it had to be the same system.

I'm sure they are working on a 3DS Pokemon now, but they had to finish the 5th gen games on DS where they started. It's just an unfortunate case of timing.

A completely 3D Handheld Pokemon game (Like Pokemon Colosseum)

Two new types (Cosmic and Light)

Sooner or later they will jump from sprites to 3D models (in the handheld games). So why not 6th gen? They already have all of the models for all of the Pokemon. I remember they said something like 2D sprites are easily to draw/detail, but come'on.
