Pokemon Black 2 & White 2 (10/7/12)

Whats better then one screen? Well two screens of course! Current-gen portables inside: DS, Lite, DSi, DSXL, 3DS...

I've got a question regarding these games (I apologize if this has been answered already), but if I have Pokemon White and get Pokemon White 2 will I be able to get the version exclusives that were in Black? Or will I have to get Black 2 in order to get the version exclusives from the original Black?

You get the opposite cover legendary but the rest of the version exclusive Pokemon remain the same. You will have to get Black 2 to get the exclusives from the original Black (So for example Vullaby is Still exclusive to Black 2 and Rufflet is still exclusive to White 2)

Yeah, that was a question I kept asking around here and there, but it does look like you'll be better off getting the opposite of the one you already have. So I'll be getting White 2 I guess...

I'm lucky enough to still have friends that play Pokemon so version exclusives have never been much of a problem for me. Then again I have one of every (currently available) Pokemon except Deoxsys. Hopefully that'll change soon with the rumoured R/S remakes

Storywise, it makes more sense to get the same one (So Black and Black 2), if you care that much.

But if you want exclusives, you are better off going for the opposite game (Black and White 2).

I already have the White exclusives from my girlfriend, so I am fine and will be getting Black 2 to go with Black.

I'm really hoping I'll be able to open up White Forest in White 2 and actually get my Black City going in Black 1. All so I can actually buy some evo stones for a change... good grief. I really wish they hadn't done that...I have so many guys waiting for stones, and grinding in caves for dust-clouds is insane since the majority of them are gems and pokemon anyway.

I thought the story was relatively the same in both versions.

For the most part they are the same. Just minor details like for example what Cover Legendary N uses.

It is.

What I mean is N.

At the end of Pokemon Black, N leaves with Zekrom and in White, he leaves with Reshiram.
In Black 2, he still has Zekrom, and White 2, he still has Reshiram.

And stuff happens within the story relating to *his* Zekrom or Reshiram.

So yes, the story is the same, but if consistency is important to you, then N's dragon is relevant.

Otherwise it's like "N left with Reshiram" and then "N now has Zekrom, even though you had Zekrom".

It's not that important.

White Forest is active much sooner in White 2 than it was in White 1 as far as I know, but also, you can switch to Black City, but the differences are not as vast as they were in Black/White.

I am in the same boat as you. I KEEP getting freaking THUNDERSTONES and I have exhausted their use. I don't need them.

Luckily, Black2/White2 has the Pokemon World Tournament. So forget Black City.
http://www.serebii.net/pokearth/unova/pwt.shtml

At the PWT, you can buy evolutionary crap for Battle Points.

Fire, Thunder, Water and Leaf are all 3BP. You can also get Razor Claw and Razor Fang, for Sneasel and Gligar respectively.

The real problem comes with Dawn Stone, Dusk Stone and stuff like that, which you WILL need Black City for or have to deal with those Dust Clouds, or rare held items on some Pokemon.

You can get at least one of I think most of the other stones/items on the ground somewhere, and there are at least 3 Shiny Stones, and this probably goes for some other things, but yeah.

Don't forget to get the Pokemon Dream Radar off of the 3DS eShop as well, after you beat the game you are able to get the Dream World versions of 4th gen.cover legendaries by putting D/P/Pl/HG/SS into the 3DS Game Card Slot.
Absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on a Dialga with the Telepathy ability!
Pokemon Dream Radar releases the same day as B2/W2. I think it's $5.

I knew that you could get the Legendaries.

Did not realize they were the Dream World versions (or forgot).

I am kinda miffed we don't have prices for that or 3D Pro yet. I'm having a hard time understanding how Dream Radar is the cheaper of the two (around $5 in Japan, 3D Pro is close to $15 or $20).

Honestly hope they aren't as much money here. I am going to be really disappointed if people actually spend $15-20 on Pokedex 3D Pro if it stays that price.

Meh I'm not planning on getting neither the pokedex 3D pro nor the Dream Radar. I could just ask online for the dream world abilities of the legendary pokes (although I don't think I can ask for someone to trade a Therian Form Landorous to get the mirror item because it will revert back to normal or am I wrong?) The pokedex 3D sounds expensive for just viewing pokes. I rather buy some eshop games I haven't bought yet. Still only a 26 days left for the games to come out =D. Gonna preorder it and buy Paper Mario: The Thousand Year door to past the time.

Not sure regarding the Therian Form stuff. I think it only reverts if you send it to Black/White. So yes you could get it.

I don't know who you're going to ask online to trade you legendaries, though... In any case, it's only $5. If that. Still a lot, but you get a bunch of Pokemon for it. But yeah. Still lame.

To be fair, the Pokedex 3D Pro DOES have all the Pokemon, forms, says their names (a narrator guy), has more backgrounds, you can take the pictures with them and there are quizzes that test your Pokemon knowledge, which is a lot of cool stuff. But $15-20 is idiotic. I can't justify that price to anyone.

I'd pay $10 for the pair of Dream Radar and Pokedex 3d Pro. No more. And like MoldyClay said, you'd think that Dream Radar would be the more expensive of the two. It's more like a game and you can catch rare Pokemon.

Sites like Serebii and Smogon have people willing to trade those pokes for something. I am a good breeder/rnger so I might get the pokes I want xD. If not then I would just buy the Dream Radar but I would rather play eshop games I haven't played before buying it. And yeah the price for pokedex 3D is too much. I'm happy with the free pokedex 3D even if I can't see other gen pokes.

I'm just surprised people are willing to trade legendaries for anything other than more legendaries or shinies.

Then again, I don't follow Smogon rules and all that EV stuff, so maybe people hold more value in that, but you'd think DW Ability Legendaries would be valuable for those not willing to spend money to get Pokemon.

But yeah. Nobody wants to spend $5+ on an app instead of a game.

My buddy has a Japanese 3DS and he's downloaded the game, I just tried it out 2 days ago. It's similar to Face Raiders but you shoot lasers in either short bursts or continuous streams. Honestly it's a fairly barebones title, but if they updated Dream Radar when 6th gen comes out it might be worth the purchase.

On the plus side, there are 26 Pokemon with their Dream World abilities (8 Legendaries, 3 that require button codes) and 22 items (which includes Sun Stone, Moon Stone, Fire/Leaf/Thunder/Fire Stones, Dawn Stone, King's Rock, and Rare Candy).

You can also upgrade the beam, get power-up items, and there are 14 types of levels (though most of them are for specific Pokemon, but there are 3 that change the likelihood of Pokemon vs. Items).

I'm really excited about this, I'm gonna try something new, I'm not gonna use the starter pokemon. Rather I'm gonna trade in another pokemon and use that instead. (Think pokemon yellow) I've prepared a Vulpix, (one of my favorites) but I'm considering other favorites too that have level activated evolutions like Shinx, or meowth.

Why not monday? I mean I pre-ordered a few weeks ago. Shouldn't it at least arrive on monday?

Depends on what shipping you ordered. If you ordered it to be launch day or whatever, they will usually ship Monday, since it is the first business day close to release. Things CAN ship Saturday, but they usually do not since it is still the weeked and not considered a business day (despite there being business...).

I've had one game changed to 'prepping to ship' and arrived Monday, but the chances of that happening are slim. When I preordered Pokemon Black, I got it Tuesday or Wednesday.
