if you like to play real games and save more that 256mb of any game, which is most every game, then you should not buy the arcade version.

The pro version is very good. it now comes with the wireless controllers(PLUS), headset(PLUS) and a 60GB HDD. 60GB is good a lot better than the old 20GB they used to give. I have loved my pro system but i also don't have a HDMI Compatible TV so it didn't really bother me that the system did not come with one.

If you have a hundred more bucks to shell out. GET THE ELITE. It is the best xbox system. 120Gb is more than enough to do anything with. comes with an HDMI cable so you can use that for your HD connection. and it is black.

It is whatever one of those that fits your preferences.

HAVE FUN

Just stick to the Pro. I have the old 20GB HDD and I have a bunch of game saves, about 13 XBL Arcade games, and even the original Fable downloaded onto that thing and I still have like 5.8GB left of memory so I see no reason to fork out that much more money to get the Elite (even though its so sexy).

Arcade sucks, plain and simple so stay far away from it. Happy Xboxing!

I've got a 120gb HDD on mine, and it's about half full. If you like to download a lot of games and demos, it's worth the extra money to get the bigger hard drive. You'll fill up 20gb faster than you think, especially considering that the 20gb HDD only has about 12gb of usable space.

I'd say go with an elite if you got the money and plan on playing a bunch of games and get a lot of XBLA games.

Finally, it took awhile but I have the buy window down into the next 2 weeks so I decided to save up for the Elite even though it would take a while longer I figure it will be more than worth it.

the Elite is so much more worth it, if you have an HD tv to connect it too even better.

Congrats on your decision, and I think that buying the elite will be very well worth it. Like stinklesAFI said, if you have a 1080 HD TV, then that's an even bigger plus!

Alas I haven't yet saved up for a new TV. Does the Elite have cables for a regular tv or do I have to buy those separately?

You mean the yellow, red and white cable? I pretty sure it is included but look on the box when you going to buy it because it will tell you (same for pro and arcade on the same box). I guess it is research for you now if you planned to buy Xbox 360 online or a used one without a box.

Uhhh not quite, Component is just three cables with dedicated Red, Green and Blue but you still need audio cables for sound and I ma pretty sure they only come on HD tv's (but I could be worng), I can't remember if the elite comes with the standard A/V cables though. But to answer your second question i think you mean HDMI cables.

I know what the component is but I think the yellow is include with the component cable for SD and HD. The reason why I said that because my friend have an Xbox 360 and it have an switch on the console to change from SD to HD. (I found that weird.) But you are right that HDMI is a ideal cable for HD.

the switch on the console is for the other blue and such cables connected to the component cables. You can have lower rez HD with those cables or you can just buy the HDMI cable.

And Yes, YELLOW=VIDEO WHITE and RED= SD Audio

BLUE and other colors= HD Component cables

HDMI= all video and sound
