Star Wars: The Old Republic

The more I hear about this, the more I want to make it my first MMORPG. I loved KotOR 1 and 2, and this looks like that game TO THE MAX. There's a comic and a lot of background on the website right now, what does the GoNIntendo community think?

I'm moderately interested. I'm a big Star Wars geek, and I'm a fan of Bioware (though I don't really like real-time with pause combat systems). Not sure I want to jump into another MMO. KOTOR1&2 were "aight". I never finished the second one because of a horrible, game-destroying bug about halfway through.

I was incredibly lucky with KotOR 2, I heard so many horror stories but I made it through all the way without any trouble. I would think that this would have to be in real time actually, considering it's online the whole time.

I'd play it if it was on 360 but PC isnt up for gaming.

I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS GAME!!!!!! I have been waiting for another star wars MMO to come out since galaxies was basically left by the wayside. I love what Bioware has done for the Star Wars universe and i am sure that they are going to make this game good. If you haven't noticed the most recent star wars RPG that was made KOTOR 2 wasn't made by bioware and it sucked. (Reused engine and tons of bugs). Bioware has poured their hearts out into this game and i can not wait for a beta or something!

the plot/gameplay was pretty awesome, it was all the bugs that sucked.

Oh yeah, I know the combat's all going to be real time in their MMO, I was just commenting on Bioware's games in general. I'm a turn-based combat guy.

KOTOR2 was developed by Obsidian, which includes a lot of the original Fallout devs - in fact, they're currently developing Fallout: New Vegas, which is a welcome sign. Good company, but they're known for buggy games (mainly KOTOR2). I certainly wouldn't say KOTOR2 "sucked". It was just fine right up until I got stuck in a certain area and couldn't advance the game.

Anyway, I'll probably give Old Republic a spin at some point. I'm not as hyped up for it as I am for, say Diablo III or Starcraft II though.

I cant even describe how excited I am for this game, I am absolutely in love with the Star Wars lore and mythology... I read all the books and play all the games just to learn more about the universe. And this game looks absolutely fantastic not only on a gameplay level, but the story to this game just looks simply amazing.

This will be my first MMO (besides RuneScape when I was younger, haha) and I couldnt be any happier that its a Star Wars one, by BioWare! Hope this lives up to the hype and succeeds where Star Wars Galaxies failed.
