Also, the Mac layout (for every application) pisses me off. I'm so used to the windows layouts that I have a hard time doing anything even slightly advanced on Mac's. The Mac commercials are pretty funny though.
So overall, Windows (except for Vista).

It's time for me to upgrade and I've been debating on what to do, I want to be able to play games on my new computer and thus the reason a PC is already on the positive side. I also am going to want a video card for some quick video editing, and I've used my same computer for 6.5 years and it has worked perfectly fine, just takes a while sometimes when saving and doing certain features in videos. I haven't had any problems with my PC in 6.5 years, no virus, no hardware or software issues. So I've been extremely happy with my PC. I know the Macs are extremely popular now, but they also seem to be a lot more expensive than a regular PC. I bought my PC 6.5 years ago for less than $1000 with monitor and printer...it was able to run FarCry at lower settings, and it allowed me to use the map editor in FarCry which I really enjoyed.
Anyway, I'll probably be updating in the next month, probably for Christmas. I'm wanting a computer that will do video editing without any issues and play games now like Crysis and allow me to use the map editor without any problems. I know Macs seem popular for video editing, but again, using my Windows PC for the last 6.5 years has been fine and I haven't had any issues, I even got Windows Movie Maker to use the bluescreen function in some film editing that I didn't think was possible. So even after reading through the comments, I'm not seeing anything to sway me to Macs, considering I've never had an issue with my PC, any thoughts?

i had been hearing about the discontinuing of XP availability; not sure if that idea sank or swam though. but bottom line.. be sure you love Vista before committing a new PC purchase, especially if your rationale rests on "if it ain't broke..."

My thoughts:
Stick with what you know. Get a nice PC. If you have no issues with windows and all you want to do is game and video edit, then all you need is a PC. Sure, you could buy a mac and have windows on one partition, but how often would you actually use the mac side? Probably not that often. I switched to a mac because windows machines were causing problems. But in your case, if it's not broken, don't fix it. (besides, I find iMovie highly annoying, but it might just be me)
If you are still curious about macs, get a macbook or mac mini (when they are actually updated).
So, this is coming from a mac fan, and I hope you found what I had to say useful in your next computer purchase. Good luck.
