Did anyone mention Edgeworth yet? Not exactly a Nintendo character (Capcom), but he only appears in the Ace Attorney series which released only on GBA and Nintendo DS.

Miles Edgeworth. I just get a GAY vibe when I think of him. He's so emotional yet he doesn't like to talk about his feelings at all, as if he were hiding something. Also, at some parts in the games... The way he talks to Phoenix. It's mostly my personal little fantasy though.

Oh yeah, not to mention the purple suit and the cravat (if that's wat it's called). Hmm.

Birdo is a transsexual, not gay.

Tingle is a transvestite, also not gay.

And being effeminate and gay are two very different things.

Birdo is wierd. I used to use him for grins in Mario Kart Wii, and now I'm afraid to use him. Now I want to take a shower after I play as him. Tingle just pisses me off. After he made me pay so much damn money in Wind Waker, I always tried to him down from the balloon in Smash Bros. Melee on the Termina Bay.

I would also hate getting mail in Twilight Princess, because I'd have to see that mailman. He seems like much more than effeminate...

I just had to get in on this

first off, somebody mentioned sheik, have you ever seen the real sheik? he isnt as feminine as "he" looks when "he" is actually zelda, on top of that, why would you call somebody gay because they have a certain body type? what, straight guys can only have broad shoulders and a giant chest?

anyways, this topic in general is silly, they just dont make 'em gay.
tingle isnt gay, he is just insane, neither is captain rainbow, japanese humor does not make it gay.

also, captain falcon? are you serious? if thats not a joke, im worried about your logic.

pimps = flaming homos
hooded justice=SUPER FLAMING GAY
most super heros = gayer than richard simmons

Actually, they probably are supposed to be gay. Captain Rainbow is without a doubt flamboyantly suggestive. The fact is, Western culture treats sex as much more a taboo than Japan does. Innuendo is absolutely nothing for Japan. Suggestive humour is mainstream in the media. There's no shame in specific fetishes, hentai materials and sexual facilities (like specialised sex motels and erotic tea parlours being a totally normal thing to see in town). Western moral societies still see the concept as something that should be kept behind closed doors, which is why everything relating to kids is so clean. You should compare original Pokemon episodes to dubbed American episodes. Huge difference in appropriation.

But then, it's the reverse for violence. Japan aren't as tolerant to violence as USA, which is why things like No More Heroes are uncensored. Some extremely violent stuff comes out of Japan, but it is more of a response to niche markets than to social demand.

The point is, to have a highly suggestive game in Japan is not surprising. My opinion is that if you think a character resembles a gay stereotype, then it is probably just Japanese humour lost in translation, and instead of being funny, at times it's just creepy.

I really don't stop to consider the sexual preferences of fictional characters, let alone those with such innocent origins as Nintendo's. I doubt Miyamoto does/Yokoi did, either.

These characters are defined by the games they have been part of - nothing else.

Red link was definitely gay in the four swords manga. Not only did he act really feminine, but he had an unmistakable crush on blue link.(Not sure what that says about the complete link, but it might mean he is somewhat narcissistic)

Edit: I was going to mention bridget from Guilty Gear but he's just a crossdresser. (and even that was his parent's decision)

Ike is almost definitely gay. Shows no interest in the opposite sex for both Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, but in the ends "runs away" with either Soren or Ranulf (Radiant Dawn's limited character endings make the special ones pretty much canon, in this case it's just a matter of which pairing you prefer).

Also, Peach. She keeps letting Mario rescue her and gives him kisses, but never even lets him stay at the castle!
Please read this before incurring my wrath.

I don't think Link is homosexual. Mostly because of his addiction to Zelda. It's quite unhealthy really, haha.

Or maybe she's just too busy with Bowser. Which would make Bowser the straightest character in any Mario game. (ZING!)

I'll let this picture speak for itself. Oh, and doesn't he kick his leg up for his victory pose in Melee? And, lastly, doesn't it seem too convenient that most of his special moves are always flaming? The prosecution rests. :)

I can't think of any homosexual Nintendo characters.

Luigi is just a wuss but he's not gay... though Daisy is considered a tomboy so perhaps she's a lesbian or Luigi's *** hag... I dunno.

Tingle is obviously flamboyant but his side games show him obssesed with ladies. sooo... who knows. Maybe he goes both ways. lulz.

Probably the gayest things I've ever seen in ninty games, and that's strethcing it, are on Pokémon games. Like for instance the two buff guys inside the store in Pokémon Diamond... or that kid in Pokemon Colosseum saying that some other dude was "checking him out"... and so on...
