I like to browse GoNintendo from the Wii...

is it possible to reduce the amount of flash based content/ads on the pages. I have had to reload the site many times due to the Wii browser running out of memory. If I want to check out the « Older Entries, I have to zoom to bottom of the page and hope I can click on the "« Older Entries" link before Opera crashes. I love the site, but if the flash adscould be replaced with static images for us Wii Opera users that would be wonderful. Thanks.

It has happened to me once or twice but very rarely so i don't really no what your talking about. uhhh the storage capability is just so low on the wii though. That's why i'm gettin a PS3 to compliment my wii. Than again i don't use it for gonintendo that much. But when i do i would reccomend that feature where you press either 1 or 2 (can't remember)
Oh and about the adds, i don't think RMC can do that seeing that it's how the site gets $$$. Now if you guys started selling T-shirts and mugs...

It's very rare that I get 'out of memory', it does happen occasionally though. I don't think it would be really fair to ask RMC to ditch the adds. That is how most of the sites money is made.

Anyway, back to the Wii IC problem, the DS internet allows you to plug in expanded memory. Why can't we do that with SD cards? Think about it, with a 2GB card, we could multiply the IC's cache by like 5 or 6 times (could be much more). It seems like such an easy solution...

Anyone know a reason why that wouldn't work?

I think it's kind of ironic how the GoNintendo site is not easily read by the Wii browser because of the Flash ads.
And also very sad.
But I think Rawmeat likes his money a lot more than reading his site on the Wii.

yeah.. not much we can do about the ads; we are under contract to provide a certain number of ads in specific places on the site.

also, the site was not designed for mobile browsers--especially the feeble wii version, and mobile browsers' weaknesses are only magnified by putting them through the wringer. it's not our intention to make life difficult, but at the same time, the wii browser really isn't designed to be an equal to something from a full-on computer. basically, you win some, you lose some battles.

but yeah.. it will be interesting to see the future of GN...
