Thought I would pop in, new member here :)

THIS GAME IS INCREDIBLE!

I've already put near 20 hours in it, and I've only played half of the story and barely any multiplayer. And control complaints are overblown - I found myself getting used to them after the first 2 chapters, and they work perfect for this game, once you get used to them. Easily the best game on 3DS so far, and I'm not even half-way done! I usually play on 6 intensity, but I've beaten a few on 8 and 9, after a lot of practice lol

10/10 for me, easily

Sakurai is incredible

Just finished the story mode. And holy hell, what a great ending to a great game (Unlike Final Fantasy XIII-2! Yeah I said it). So many plot twists and references in the dialog made it quite humorous.

Epic spoilers here:
Spoiler:
It was pretty neat when you was able to play as Dark Pit. I thought he was a bad guy all along...That and Medusa. I was not expecting her to show up!

@ CrispyGoomba:
Spoiler:
Yeah, playing as Dark Pit was awesome! I really think the next KI game will have multi player with Dark Pit. I also really like when you had to control the little girl and dog, it was very surreal.

Spoiler contains stuff towards the end of the game.

Hm...I don't like how the multiplayer stats and records don't differentiate between Nearby and Far Away matches. Means that a player's numbers increase even when they just play the AI in Nearby mode.

My wife got it for me today. A couple things: I'm a lefty, and don't have the Circle Pad Pro, but the controls are tough with the touch screen. Not sure if the CPP would help, but I'm fine with the face buttons, and don't plan on getting it. Played through 2 missions and really like the banter. Awesome game so far, just still getting used to the controls

I love the game. I am pretty good at the main game and am used to the touch screen controls now, I really think it's the best way to control it. I also think the control complaints were blown way out of proportion, it just takes an hour or so to get used to it, then it works fine. I tried out the face button configuration but thought it was absolutely horrible and made it almost unplayable. I tried out multiplayer last night and got my butt kicked repeatedly though. There was crazy stuff like huge explosions and tornados and stuff going on everywhere so it was hard to tell what was going on. And on the dark vs. light by the time I could determine if the person was on my team or not they were already killing me. I have a feeling everyone had much better weapons than me.

I got it on tuesday and it is AMAZING!!! Of course when I used the controls for the first time I thought they were really ackward. But like almost every other player, I got used to them around chapter 2. I like the fast paced gameplay and numerous amount of content and weapons. I believe i'm on chapter 13 and I have been playing on a 5.0 - 6.5 difficulty. The multiplayer is fun and very chaotic, like SSB. Altough I wish there could've been some ranking system where you can level up as you get more kills, but it's not that important. The dialouge is very humorous. I put the subtitles on the top screen so I can follow along what they are saying. The music is fantastic and very epic. Overall this is a great game. I don't
know if anybody plays the multiplayer as much as me, but I was wondering if we can have some kind of tournament? That would seem pretty fun if you ask me.

Online is so hyped and frenzied (in a good way). Alongside Ranged and Melee, the stars strengthen the base value of your weapon it seems. So they don't affect the range, Shot range modifiers do. My Guardian orbitars seem like the ultimate club user bully lol, they always seem so scared. Also, Cursed palms seem to work quite well in air battles: if you turn an enemy to stone they are defeated if the screen scrolls enough. Guardian orbitars are great for their huge walls of damage controlling space and giving you a sense of safety. DO NOT SHOOT GRAVESTONES IF YOU ARE NEAR THEM: they go boom.

Your enemies will have a reticle on them and In Light vs dark I'd say the defining factor would be the modifiers(skills or traits such as poison+4 or melee defense+3), Powers, player skill, and team cooperation. The greater your weapon value the faster you'll take from the bar and possibly take down the teams health. I've destroyed people with my 258 Burning palm and they had better valued weapons but my powers augmented my skill so there was never a landslide victory against me. I'd say hunt the Club users for they are lovers of "Killstealing", which would be picking off two opponents as they are fighting or ranged fighters(e.g. staffs, bows). Going online can net you powers you'd get later earlier and stronger weapons, it made me better at solo because I had to adapt or get destroyed. In the end it's how you use the weapon you are given, I've defeated a team 15 seconds within match start with an explosion and my palm's poison/fire attributes.

Just got my copy in the post today :) [only a week and a half late, Play.com].

The controls aren't that bad [though, boy am I glad the trigger button is the L button - it being on the other side would've been awkward] - single player-wise I've only beaten the first boss though, admittedly. We'll see how it goes.

The game menu's and its UI a joy to look at and use. For all my groaning at Sakurai for his SSB roster choices, I can't fault his design philosophy here. 8-)

My AR cards were also sweet. Not sure how you get them to 'battle', though? :?

Movin' forwards, I think I'm in for an awesome OST [if the boss 1 is anything to go by], and I hope this Magnus guy isn't too important [as I want Medusa for SSB4].

Just beat the game a little bit ago. All the other bosses were pushovers but the last one kept beating me down. Thank goodness they let you restart mid battle. I really hope they'll make another Kid Icarus in this same style.

Next up, I'm gonna try to do as much of the checklist as possible. Obviously, I'm not gonna go for "Beat every level on 9.0 difficulty" but I'll probably do a pretty big chunk of them before I quit.

Is it me or is Boss Battles hard has fudge? I got to #25 and I think there were either 1 or 2 left battles to go...haven't got back to it since. The sad thing is, I'm pretty sure it was on easy too!

Once you have the cards facing one another you have to press the A button. This starts the fight.

Slowly working my way through the game. I must say, it is really fun so far. I especially like being able to customize/ combine weapons and customize power ups. This customization really adds another layer of depth to the game. Collecting idols is another cool part of the game, just like stickers and trophies in Smash Bros. The voice acting is a little silly in a good way; I'm glad we actually got pretty good voice actors for this. The graphics are some of the best I have seen on 3DS and the 3D effect works great. Online looks to be a lot of fun as well.

My only complaint would have to be the controls, like everyone else. For air battles, the controls work just fine for me. However, when it comes to land battles/ boss fights I find the controls a bit odd to control. If it was on rails like in the air battles the controls would be fine, but it is sometimes odd changing direction and moving around with the stylus. I'm not too sure duel analog would have helped with this though. I can confirm that holding the 3DS with one hand while using both the circle pad and L pad, while your other hand is used for stylus controls, does sort of cramp up/ hurt your hand after an hour or so. Overall, it still plays great and is a very fun game with a lot to do, and I'm only at 23% complete so far.

Aha. Of course. Thank you. :)

Just beat Chapter 4 today.

Really liking the whole collecting Treasures aspect. I just fused two items into a Crystal Bow, and found one of the Zodiac Treasures. :)

On the controls; they're fine on Land, but long periods in the Air and they get annoying :| [even with the stand, which, despite my initial 'god that's an ugly thing' impression, isn't that bad - though I don't feel I always need it either].

The VAs and script are also [cheesetastic] gold.

I'm not really sure how I'll be able to beat the final boss at 9.0 Intensity. I guess I'll have to look up a Guide for it. Some other levels as well, since Health Orbs come in too late during the Flight Sections.

The game is still great, but again, I don't feel like I've mastered the Controls, and at this stage in the game (far into the post-game) I definitely think I should have.

This is a comprehensive weapon unlock guide courtesy of Gamefaqs and here's a fusion calculator.
I just have to find a way to get another high valued ore club to fuse for a greater Set of Guardian orbitars. I've discovered that shot range modifiers will increase the duration my Shield is active and the distance traveled: This is just becoming more fun and difficult at the same time.

They say to make sure you can beat the chapter flawlessly or well enough on 8.5 before taking a run on 9.0 chapters. I'm sure you'll get it in time but what's your weapon value, modifiers, and powers you have?

Clubs Reflect projectiles (which is quite valuable for flying sections) and M****s club charges at a speed fast enough to where it isn't a burden taking on foes on land, you will have to space your self accordingly due to it's extremely short ranges.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank God I'm a man of great patience, the Crisis mode trials where you have to defeat a boss in those states are quite challenging, and if you choose to lower the difficulty it'll take forever to be at the state that qualifies and even then you'll have difficulties as to whether or not you'll kill him/her/it in time. I suggest using brief invincibility when you feel you may need it on 2.0 difficulty with Aurum weaponry seems to help, I use the palm for it's homing, speed and reliability.

I'm roughly 55% done with my Treasure Hunt, but the 'Defeat Bosses in Crisis Mode' ones are becoming a bit of a problem. They're too random. Especially ones that have to be beaten at a specific difficulty level.

Yeah that probably the ones you're going to want to use your feathers on. I still have yet to complete the full game, Kingdom Hearts dropped like a week later and has stolen all of my attention, but I plan to finish it up over the weekend if possible.

Also today got my hands on some more cards bringing in the total amount of uniques to over 70, with around 20 more or so that are double of cards i already own. 4 came in two books authored by Sakurai himself with subject matter on how he creates his game/approaches game creation in general, an the other about what he looks for in other games/games he liked to play in the past and games he likes to play now. I really hope these books make it over to america not only for the AR cards but also because its a rare but great insight into the mind of a genius! :D Thank you Sakurai your games are ALWAYS a blast to play!
