I've posted a lot of rumors over the years. Some of them are outrageous while others are definitely plausible. Every once in awhile there's a rumor that I can't decide on posting or not. This is one of those rumors...and I figure I'll give it a post. Wait until you hear this one.

- a marketing agency in Sacramento, California teamed with Nintendo for an E3 video
- the video features rapper Eminem
- post production work on the video will be going on this week
- video includes footage of a Nintendo-published Wii U title called "Acid Ghost", which is aimed at older gamers
- Eminem will play the game in this video

Yeah, I told you it was a crazy one. Now who wants to take a bet that this is the real deal!? Thanks to our anonymous source for the heads up.

I'm going to be bold and bet that this one is real. Nintendo's been trying to reach the "hardcore" audience more lately, and what better way than by shooting a video with a rapper who's not too threatening (but probably still thought of as hardcore by some) and has mainstream appeal?

This would be amazing if true, but it's just so outlandish that I'm having a hard time even considering it to be true. Nintendo making a new IP at at older audiences and using Eminem as spokesperson? It just doesn't seem plausible. If true, I really wouldn't even know what to say honestly.....

So Nintendo of America opted for a marketing agency in Sacramento of all places (no offense) instead of ones in Washington/San Francisco (their HQ's) or Los Angeles (E3) and it's assumed unless otherwise noted that Eminem had to go to Sacramento just to film this promo (because why hire an agency in Sacramento otherwise) playing a game titled "Acid Ghost."

My god, it's so implausible that it might be real!

It's plausible. I read not too long ago, on this site I think, that Marshal has been a huge Donkey Kong/ Nintendo fan since he was a kid.

This... This is way too out of the ordinary to be doubted. I would, however, doubt "New Star Fox game and they are using Justin Bieber to advertise it!", but this?

This is something that I'm going to deem as 'very probable', (although him saying/yelling "AND THIS IS WHY I DON'T DO COMMERCIALS" comes to mind... )

Nothing is really "outlandish" about this. Eminem is no stranger to the quick cash-in & Acid Ghost is a cool name for a game. The most unbelievable part is that Nintendo would publish a game with a title that has a drug connotation, although they are fond of mushrooms. The game may use corrosive acid in it's gameplay so the whole drug aspect wouldn't be an issue.
Who knows, wait and see. If the lights go out and a video starts, an image of a back-lit Eminem fades in I'll have a little chuckle.

That would be awesome! I guess they really want to attract a hard-core audience. We did see Beyonce playing Rhythm Heaven on dsi so I don't know I call 50/50 on this one.

This actually sounds like the usual WTF rumor that looks crazy on paper but when we actually see it, it's pretty mild.
I hope it's a sequel to Geist.
Or they just forgot the "Metal Gear" and it's really Metal Gear Acid: Ghost, co-developed by Nintendo. :O

Now now, it's not a game developed by Nintendo, just published by Nintendo. That part seems plausible. What doen't seem plausible is them getting Eminem to do something Nintendo related. When is the last time they had "celebrity" co-operate with them for an E3 presentation? Frigging Shaun White?

I don't doubt that Nintendo (or NoA to be exact) may be taking some more chances this time around to publish titles not developed by Nintendo, much like NoE has been doing lately. Whether this rumor is true or not is still debatable. I do believe that parts of it make sense but the obviously off-the-wall parts are unlikely. But then again, weird rumors have come out to be true in the past.
