I've always liked Tatl, especially with how sarcastic she is, especially if you ask her about enemies that were in Ocarina of Time. "What?! You don't even know about the Skulltula?"
Although Midna takes a close second.
Check out The Tails and Sonic Show! It's awesome ^_^

Ezlo, by far. He needs to be in Smash Bros too! He could make Toon Link actually different than Adult Link.
Currently Playing- Wii: Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, 3DS: Super Mario 3D Land, X360: Deus Ex HR

Fi. While she's not much personality, how she overcalculates everything is kind of humorous at times, and she really adds to the atmosphere when she preforms those dances to translate. Way better than a picky Imp that whined about everything until she nearly died. Midna was my least favorite, and pretty boring. Just like the rest of Twilight Princess. OOPS DID I JUST SAY THAT OUT LOUD.
Rhythm Game fanatic. DJMax, Taiko no Tatsujin, DDR, Rockband, Guitar Hero, Rhythm Heaven, Beatmania, and Pop n' Music. Amazing.

I had to go with the King of Red Lions mostly because he didn't interrupt too many times and
Spoiler:
He is the king of Hyrule a side character who was actually important and not annoying at all
.

I liked the series better when there were no companions leading you around by the nose and panning the camera to your next objective. I mean... unless Sarasahla or the Owl count, but I do not think they would.

Given the choice between what's here though, I vote Navi. She's the least intrusive on gameplay.

I would have to agree with this. I honestly don't feel like the series has ever handled the concept very well, especially after playing Uprising. The whole Pit/Palutena dynamic just puts Zelda's pairings to shame.

My pick from this list would be the King of Red Lions, though...ironically, for the very same reason given above--he tends to stay out of your way most of the time, not to mention it's nice to see a certain oft-neglected figure in the series get some much-needed screen time.

the only 2 games where you don't have a companion were the first two on the NES (and to a certain extent a link to the past). In every other game you have some kind of companion, someone there to do the talking for link.

I haven't played all the more recent Zelda games yet, but from what I've seen, I haven't been particularly impressed with the implementation of the companion characters. They seem pretty annoying for the most part, what with constantly interrupting gameplay to offer unsolicited (and largely unnecessary) advice. I don't mind the idea of a hint system, but not one that constantly repeats things I already know.

That said, I'd have to say my "favorite" so far would be The King of Red Lions. More accurately, though, I just find him the least annoying, because he stays out of your way most of the time.

First four games actually... and if other people are to be believed about the oracles games ( haven't played them myself ) that makes six. I do not count the owl or sarasahla as companions.

Anyway, if you have a point, im still waiting to hear it.

I voted King of Red Lions because he was the least obnoxious/interupting and because everything about Wind Waker is charming, but in truth I'm yet another person who very, very much prefers no companion and would have voted for that option if it was available.

Tatl! Loved the idea of a sassy Navi, and the sly audience-winks when you asked her for info on series-staple enemies we're pretty funny.

I'm told I'd have loved Midna had I been able to put up with the grim tone of TP and not been thrown off by the entire Wolf-Link concept.
