How Gonintendo can make money

I was going to suggest a Paypal donate button or some such thing. This site and the podcast has brigthened up my life so much that I'd gladly drop a few bucks when I could to keep it going smoothly.

I've suggested this in the past, but:

I think donators could get something special for donators. Like, if you donate, you get to be in a special message board group (With their own little icon, of course).

Or, they could get a shout-out on the podcast, and donators could be under a special section when you click the Active Staff button on the main page.

Seriously, I really like that GoNintendo has maintained it's integrity and not sold out just to make money. While I am sad that Rawmeat puts his life into the site and doesn't get an appropriate salary, I do like the outlook of the site. But I trust Rawmeat to do what is necesary and right for the site.

as long as we don't use any copywritten or trademarked properties, we can pretty much put anything we want onto t-shirts, coffee mugs, etc.

like i've said before, we have several ideas on the table for things like tshirts.. it's just a matter of having time to produce the designs! my free time for designing things is at a premium lately (not much of it to go around), so if anyone with keen design skills wants to lend a hand, drop me a line! (of course it's all volunteer-based, the only rewards are the glory and warmth of helping others)

nicky hill and i are discussing some additional gonintendo... "elements" that will make tshirts, mugs, bumper stickers, etc much more feasible and attractive.

i'd still love to design some tshirts... but of course it comes down to time, which is particularly short lately. as i mentioned above, if anyone else wants to take a crack or needs some help doing so, by all means!

as for the donation link, we used to have one on the home page. for any number of reasons, it's no longer there. would people really donate regularly to the site? part of the problem might be that despite their best intentions, many of our visitors don't have credit cards or ways to transfer money online... i know this from personal experience and response from the community (for those that remember my ds lite quest).

anyway... any tshirt artists out there interested in lending a hand? i'm not sure how personally autographing a tshirt would work unless you meet any of us staffers in person, but it's a great idea. i don't have a cortjezter signature--other than that on the messageboards here, of course

i like the sound of the additional elements! and as many people have mentioned i like the sound of tshirts with the gonintendo sign and username or even signatures etc

i for one dont actually have a means of donating money but if i did i think i would if i recieved something for doing so... like a shirt or mug (some sort of incentive)... but i dont know if that would be possible for people like me who live in the UK! the postage might be a bit steep!!!

I would really dig the a lenin style shirt with RMC on it instead. I dont have the skills to do it but sure someone does! If someone could just make the design, I would custom order one for myself :)
