it's not so much 'luck'. the questions for the podcast are intended as a method of the COMMUNITY to interact with the podcast crew, and signing up for the boards JUST to post a question isn't really being part of the community, yet there are so many people who have and continue to only post in that thread, and nothing else.
that said, the questions thread is being moderated for timeliness. in the past it's always been a sort of running joke that questions are so horribly outdated by the time they're answered that it's really the only way to improve on this, especially since the questions portion of the podcast has been steadily shrinking over the past 6-12 months. this time, i didn't even HAVE to post an announcement that the thread was reopened, people just started posting to it within MINUTES of it being unlocked. i left it open for about 2 days.. more than enough time for any regular member of the community to check in for a couple minutes. i figure 3 pages of questions is about as far out as we should go, since it equals about 2-3 months worth of podcasts, any longer than that and it just starts getting unreasonably long between question asked and finally answered.
anyway, the point is: if you only check once a week or so, then it simply means you have a lot of missed opportunity to get involved
