Game Studio Logo Redesign - Need Your Input

[M-Thirteen]

These are 3 proposals for a logo redesign for a certain video game studio; I will not tell you which one though, hence the placeholder text. The first is the one I chose as the definitive one.







What I need you guys to do for me is tell me what these logos represent to you, how they make you feel, what kind of personality they have, etc.

I would also appreciate it if you told me to which of the ratings classes you belong in - E, T, or M - Though it isn't necessary.

Note that this is a class assignment so I'm not actually working for this particular studio, this is to find out whether I accomplished what I set out to do.

they're all decent. i prefer the first two; they're more compact and symbolic. the last one is more just a simple illustration of some sort.

first one has a kind of gothic feel (not the black mood of death folks); the architectural time period.
second one has a sort of cathedral stained glass vibe.
last one... uhh, kid icarus enemy via dali?

I definitely like the first one the best. The combination of the interesting shape up top and logo seems very...fitting. The second one is my second favorite but I think the typeface could've been a good bit smaller to not distract from the image too much. The words on the third one (even though i know the words are placeholders) seem less legible than the previous two designs because of how close the words are to the picture.

Just my two cents.


First one looks like a more gritty game company. Maybe an assassins creed or something by epic games. So i'm guessing it looks like it would be rated T-M. It also looks like


The second has a similar feel to it as the first one, for me at least. It also reminds me of this logo.


The third one seems like the odd one out. It seems a lot less gothic than the first two.

I like the third one. it's kind of a glass that's crying. the first one seems boring. the middle one is ok, but looks like a corporate logo from deus ex or something.

Well, the assignment is due on Thursday, and I think I got the results I wanted.
As for the simplistic nature of these logos, my professor emphasizes that logos must be easy to remember, with functionality as a priority, as opposed to aesthetics, so that they are well-positioned in the industry, they are the iconic representations of their values, after all.

Now as to which studios it was…


It was Vigil Games.

I chose the first, a lantern, because it's reminiscent of their current logo, which I think is way too complicated.
