So I got a copy of Modern Warfare today

And so far I'm liking it. Only played the campaign so far, but it's pretty enjoyable. Graphics still hold up well for a game that's over 4 years old, the shooting controls are pretty tight, the weapons feel like they have an appropriate amount of "weight" to them, and the levels have featured some nice designs and plenty of action (along with some stealth, especially the SAS missions). Also kinda nice to play a shooter where I can do things like shoot through thin walls. Overall, pretty good. This is also my first time playing a CoD game since World at War back in 2008.

Now I guess I mainly want to ask this: how are Modern Warfare 2 and 3? Also, how about Black Ops? Do the games have campaigns that are at least "decent" at best, and how's the multiplayer? MW2 is going for pretty cheap at GameStop so I may pick it up regardless, but I'd like to know if I should wait a bit longer for a price drop on MW3 and/or Black Ops.

For as much crap as the CoD games get, they're all relatively good. If you like your shooters a bit more fast paced then you can't lose. I haven't played the new Modern Warfare game, but it looks good.

I've got MW3. I'm not a big FPS guy. I've played online occasionally throughout the years at a friend/cousin's house before, but I finally got a PS3 early this month! It was on sale, so I decided to give it a try. When you start the campaign, it says that it leaves off of MW2. So while you don't know the whole back story, it's not that hard to figure out what's going on after the first few missions. The campaign overall was pretty good. Not sure how long it took me to beat it, but then on the title screen, it said 50% complete. So I guess I gotta finish it on a harder difficulty. I don't know if there's extra missions/different ending or not. Then there's Spec Ops missions and the multiplayer. From the little that I've played of the other games, there doesn't seem to be too much different in this multiplayer. So I'm guessing if you enjoyed the first, you will enjoy MW3.
