All leaks point at a cpu on par with the 360's, 3 cores, a bit more efficient in some areas :S, everything else seems to be more than a 50%

I'm pretty excited about the wii U but I'll only be willing to pay around $200 dollars for one. after all its only and attachment for the wii itself.

Yeah, after you purchase the U attachment (for $200) you just add it to the Wii....this then renames the system to the Wii U (because you just bought the letter U for it). Can't wait for E3!

I'm not paying a single red cent until I see a lot of exclusive content that would make me think about purchasing it. If all it gets are ports and throwaway shovel crap, I'm going to save up for another console.

I also wanna see more of what the Wii didn't get from Nintendo.

I'll be buying the Wii"U" for the Nintendo exclusives. (Duh! ) Anything else will be a bonus for me. :p Plus I'm still hoping it'll cost $299.
I hope that the wait is not the best part...

I would be happy and purchase it day one if it was in the $300 - $400 price range. Anything above that, and it depends on how much I have saved up and if I can afford to spend $450+ at that time. I think $350 would be perfect.

Even $300 is a bit pricy for me with my current budget, I hope it's more like $250. If it's over $300 I'll just wait for a price drop.

I wouldn't want to spend much if I'm not going to have a lot of third party support who are ready to fully commit whole-heartily, won't bring their best efforts to the platform, and treating Wii U as another "test" machine. When the PS4 and 720 rolls out, no more last-gen ports, no more D-level games, and if the next-gen machines are nearly as powerful as the Wii U, no more excuses!

$300 for me. Maybe $350 if I'm really feeling it. Anything higher than that, though, it's no deal.

As of now though I'm having a hard time getting excited for the Wii U at all. Show me some games, Nintendo! And not New Super Mario Bros. for the fourth time.

$300 at most, maybe $350, it depends on the launch lineup (which I know, will consist mostly of ports), but I'm not willing to pay something like FIVE-HUNDRED AND NINETY-NINE US DOLLARS.

seriously. wtf is with the ps3 not coming with hdmi cable?

[*]I have a hunch they knew that most of their games would only be 720p so they didn't bother. Not to mention they love making their fans buy their most needed components like that $80 memory stick LOL when I saw that my head exploded!

they put composite cables in the box. you can only do 480i over those cables. and making people buy something wasn't a part of it, I buy all my hdmi cables from monoprice, 3$ or less per 6 feet.

I think $300 would be justified, but $350 seems pretty high. From a hardware standpoint, the system seems like it will essentially be a harddrive-less 360/PS3-level box, but with a fancy controller. True, Wii was basically last-generation tech in a shiny new box with a fancy new controller, but it brought some very big innovations to the table. The whole direction of the console focused very much on attracting new customers, and it included a killer app in the form of Wii Sports, which did something radically different from consoles before it. All I've seen from Wii U so far are PS360-level hardcore games with a few touchscreen features thrown in, and some demos from Nintendo showing Wii Sports and Wii Play sequels with an extra small screen added, one that only one person can use. I don't see any kind of a radical change or advancement here to create a Wii-level phenomenon, just the same limited kinds of Wii games that have already been made, with an extra little feature or two added. IMO, that doesn't seem to justify a $150 premium over the current HD sytems, which should both be available for $199 or less by the time Wii U is released.

I'm not expecting anything over $350 at this point. I could probably still afford it if it were priced upwards of $400, though that would be my limit after factoring in games/other stuff I might need.

Obviously hoping for something a little closer to $300 so my wallet can rest easy come launch day :P

yeah, i really want enough to buy the system and at least 2 games.. my goal is to save up at least 500.. so hopefully i will have plenty to throw my money at.

a little off topic but does anyone know what store offers the most "rewards" or "reasons" to buy from them on system launch day? like a gift card for the store, or a free game.. ive missed out every console launch and instead buy them weeks after. save, the 3ds.. which nothin was offered from gamestop. where can i get the biggest bang for my buck on day 1?

no where, I've been to system launches starting with the SNES, I've never seen a retailer offer stuff like that, that I can recall. videogames and systems sell with incredibly tiny margins, offering free stuff on top of it, makes it a money losing deal for the store.

300, 350? There's gotta be good software for it, though. We know too little about it at this point for me to say for sure.

I'd be willing to pay upwards to 400-450 dollars for it.

It's sad, but true. Nintendo is the only company that I can find that puts life into their games anymore. A fun game is fun, but without life, it's a hollow experience.

bummer.. i dont know why i thought the day i walked dejected from best buy/toys r us on the wii launch day, empty handed, people were leaving with extra goodies.. maybe, just to make myself feel even more sad.
thanks for the heads up.

$350 for the actual console...it was $299 but I've moved on that point, lol. I will be putting aside $500 total (maybe a little more if I see 3-4 games I want), that will be enough for 2-3 games and/or extra stuff, in case they further improve the Wii Remote/Nunchuks/CCPro again. Might get some points cards for new VC downloads...but I want first party games the most, of course.
