With their recent update, they revealed that you can receive the Wii U version as a Pledge bonus instead of the Steam version(it says steam version in the pledge description, and they are unable to update/change the pledge descriptions). Anybody interested that has extra cash should at least check it out (if they haven't from the previous article on the site already).

Cloudberry Kingdom Kickstarter

At first glance I was not impressed by this game, but after reading more info on the kickstarter page and realizing I can set the difficulty to whatever I want....I decided it was something that I really wanted to be able to play on my Wii U (well whenever I get the Wii U that is), and that's why I decided to back this project.

why not both... and both versions should communicate with each other... one day, the glorious internet age will be here.

Broken_Cartridge wrote:Saying that Nintendo is going to put in parts that are cheaper then what they are going to sell it at is not saying the company is cheap, it's what businesses do. Nintendo has not stated that they will sell the Wii U at a loss, they've actually stated that the Wii U is going to make up for the losses that they've been experiencing recently (along with them starting to make money off of the 3DS come September...which probably means a remodel is on the way).

Also a good online infrastructure will prove nothing in regards to how cheap a company is. At least, it won't to most people. The bulk of things that are needed for it to have good online are things that they need to do on a firmware side of things.....and again, nobody is saying that Nintendo is cheap. Just sayin.

Let me try to be as nice as possible on this because the topic seems to have gotten a little heated.

I believe the earlier rumor of EA's origin service or Valve's steam service coming to the Wii U speaks volumes of just how cheap Nintendo might make the Wii U. If they go with origin Nintendo has severely limited what Wii U owners can get from third parties on a downloadable service that's not from Nintendo, because it was more cost efficient, in other words cheap.

Compare EA's service to steam and Nintendo really needs to get Valve's service on their system day 1, rather then gush and dawdle over 2 companies who want their service on a new device. The thing about getting Valve in an agreement though, like the one I was going to suggest to the Nintendo rep in my last comment at the Kid Icarus event yesterday, that agreement would cost more then EA's service and because Valve and steam are more flexible with their agreements with third parties, Nintendo would have a much bigger arsenal of content because they went with the better service.

sounds something like un Nintendo
we know for sure Nintendo likes to control its service and they have an iron grip on it
if anything ea or valve advised only they will not put their service or have a cut from Nintendo s!!

That would be simply amazing. Unfortunately, I can't see that happening any time soon.

Well, you won't have to worry about me getting offended by you stating your opinion. Everyone is entitled to their own.

My opinion on the topic you're bringing up? I don't see either happening. I'm not saying that it won't happen, but I just don't see Nintendo turning to either of them for an online store. I really hope I'm wrong because that would open me up for a heap of surprises at E3, but I don't see them doing it. Again, not saying impossible, but unlikely....

Also, in conversations about Nintendo's online let's try not to discuss how cheap the company is based off of the rumored choices that Nintendo is being presented with. Saying that this rumor (we are talking about a rumor right? This isn't fact) that Nintendo is deciding between EA and Valve shows how cheap Nintendo really is is a bit ridiculous. I mean seriously....a company should not be judged on how cheap they are based off of a rumor.

hey, I'm reasonable :(

also, they could afford it. it's digital :) another copy doesn't cost them anything. I would only ever expect anyone to do something like that if they did it like portal 2 on ps3. if you buy portal 2 on ps3 you have to link your ps3 to a steam account and *that* steam account gets the free copy (at least as far as I know, there isn't a steam key in the box).

then you aren't having people buy the wiiu and give away the steam copy to their friends. I don't know if I'm making sense.

in my wildest dreams your wiiu links to your steam account and when you buy a wiiu copy of a game that is also on steam, your steam account gets that game as well.

as for digital i can see it happen if valve gave a shovel about Nintendo !
but isn't the only PS3 game that they gave a steam copy of was portal 2?
that is a valve game , so not every game it seems its only valve.

right, because it was a valve title. valve would have to work with nintendo and the publishers, but it could get done. Gaben has nothing but respect for Nintendo, but they are PC developers first and foremost, and they exist in the online and digital space, and nintendo just isn't there yet.

Gabe Newell Loves Miyamoto and Super Mario 64

Valve likes what it sees with the Wii U, and has always loved Nintendo

They haven't put out games on Nintendo consoles, but I can see this changing with the Wii U. None of the games that they have made are capable of running on any of Nintendo's released consoles. Be a little "reasonable" when you talk down on Valve for not releasing on a Nintendo console. P:

It would be nice if Nintendo can include both EA's Origin or Valve's Steam (if that rumour is true) on the Wii U at launch, but alas, I think that it is not possible. Oh well. I can wish, can I?

I'd rather pound nails into my junk then have origin be the online system for the wiiu.

that'd be nice. I'm looking forward to this game a great deal, and a delay can really only help it at this point. I'm in the weird situation where I'm looking forward to certain games I was gonna get on my ps3 to be delayed to put them past the wiiu launch so I can choose the best version to get (PC, PS3, or WiiU)

big fat turtle wrote:look gtt no matter what you say the PC version will always be the bast version
the people who say they want batter graphics wont buy it for the Wii u
its the people who cant afford a PC that will buy a Wii u version
do yourself a favor and buy the PC version.

the PC version will be a port of the 360 version, it's basically down to if a possible wiiu version brings something interesting to the table or if I want it on sale on steam.

Their power may not be the only important factor in sales. There are a few things that, not fully confirmed so far at least, are looking really bad, like no used games, no discs (xbox), cheap price but a mandatory 2 year contract (!). Despite my interest in either console, those points are pretty much killing it for me :(

Online multiplayer has "bandwidth" and "latency", and the first requierement makes it pretty clear that this future employee must have worked on a game with online.
BI doesnt has multiplayer, YET, but they were looking into it, now they delay the game and want a person who knows about online.

No Used Games
No Discs
No Backwards Compatability (Even for Downloadable Games)

Those are REALLY bad, anti-consumer measures. Anti-Used games is a Microsoft rumor while no BC is a Sony rumor. They are terrible ideas that will harm the future of the industry.
