Best: Playstation Conference, Ubisoft, Screwattack network, so on.
Worst: Nintendo press conference, LA destroying itself, expensive pizza, SiNG, Wonderbook.

Not in that order.

ScrewAttack - Best and worst of E3 2012

Postby LegendofSantiago » 16 Jun 2012 14:45

@led-naruto Nintendo's was no where near the worst conference. Microsoft and EA's where pretty terrible. Ubisoft probably had the best one though, not too sure if i would agree with Playstation winning though.

ScrewAttack - Best and worst of E3 2012

Postby Maxram0 » 16 Jun 2012 14:47

@LegendofSantiago

best:
5: psn plus offers
4: ubisoft conference, most solid games
3: Trey Parker analogy of smartglass?
2: they had 17 people covering E3
1: actual surprises that wasn't leaked beforehand like watchdog, zombie u, big daddy in Sony's all-star battle royal

Worst:
5: Sing
4: fear of another riot like 2 years ago if the Lakers won
3: Pizza price/ taste in the LA convention centre
2: Nintendo conference, how they ended with "before we leave take one more look" and they showed Nintendo land fire work, lack of release date&price
1: wonderbook broken demo

ScrewAttack has always seemed like one of the gaming sites that have a lot of respect for Nintendo to me. I've never seen them as Sony fanboys.

It boggles the mind how bad pizza and fear of another riot was less worse then watching a conference. But whatever, let screw attack and the rest of the media be biased and cater to those with who don't know any better.

@Electrofreq

It doesn't take a Sony fanboy to hate Nintendo's boring press conference this year.

ScrewAttack - Best and worst of E3 2012

Postby thorn-rock » 16 Jun 2012 15:35

I'm dispointed in screwattack. They usually know what they're talking about.

The general opinion about E3 this year is that it sucked no matter how you look at it. Nintendo's conference was considered underwhelming because it was a given and they didn't take the opportunity. Still most people think Nintendo and Sony are tie (with some thinking Nintendo was best, and others Sony) when it comes to the conferences with average performances and Microsoft once again being the worst conference in the show. For what? 4 years in a row?

ScrewAttack - Best and worst of E3 2012

Postby AnoukiAgentYellow » 16 Jun 2012 15:52

I hated every conference this year. The pre-E3 Nintendo conference was good though, but it made the actual E3 conference even more underwhelming since they hyped it with a pre-conferance and everything.

All of the conferences disappointed, but Microsoft's was the worst because the middle section of the conference was just so freaking boring. I'm an Xbox 360 owner and I'll freely admit that Microsoft is really disappointing me at E3 a lot lately.

However, I do feel Nintendo's was better. Yes it didn't have the "oomph" I was expecting, and the lack of a big reveal for the end was a shame, but all things considered Nintendo had way more interesting stuff to show than Microsoft did. I heard Sony's conference was really no better or worse than Nintendo's.

ScrewAttack - Best and worst of E3 2012

Postby mariomaniac45213 » 16 Jun 2012 16:47

At least Sony and Microsoft showed games i'm interested in Assassin's Creed 3, South Park: The Stick of Truth, Resident Evil 6, God of War: Ascension, The Last of Us, Playstation All-Stars, Black Ops 2, etc. Nintendo showed a whole bunch of casual crap. Only two games Nintendo showed that were interesting was NSMBU and Pikmin 3...

But I agree Ubisoft knocked it out of the park...shame they beat the big 3.
Finally got a PS3 sooo add me if you want. :)

Considering their website is named after a power up in one of Nintendo's popular franchises?

ACIII counts for Sony and Microsoft, but not Nintendo? Even when it was at their conference? And you're kidding yourself if you think BlOps 2 isn't coming to Wii U.

Even in Black Ops 2 is coming to the Wii-U, it wasn't shown at Nintendo's conference so that doesn't really help Nintendo's case whether it is coming or not.

E3 was just poor all around this year. There were no real surprises or megatons. We knew about almost everything shown at the conference and Nintendo took a lot of the excitement of the Wii-U away by doing their Pre-E3 thing. And even that wasn't all that exciting. They didn't demonstrate much more of what the Wii-U could do compared to last year's E3. Nintendo didn't have the worst showing, Microsoft did, but it still wasn't very good. Sony's wasn't very good either. None of them were.

They barely mention Microsoft's conference, they don't bring up EA, "two" of the worst has nothing to do with video games, and they praised PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale twice (one with it's presentation and the other with Big Daddy being in it.)

As a fellow nerd, I now hate myself.

ScrewAttack - Best and worst of E3 2012

I thought E3 stank all together.

edit: Especially when a lot of games had Call of Duty syndrome.

ScrewAttack - Best and worst of E3 2012

Postby NeroSuferoth » 16 Jun 2012 21:28

Yeah, Nintendo was pretty dissapointing... Out of the console makers Sony did best, the book part was boring, but they were mostly about games.

Ubisoft did best of all though.
