Since when were donkey kong, kirby, and metroid in need of revivals? I do agree with the Star fox one, that would make the most sense from a business standpoint and it wouldn't be too difficult. Just put star fox 64 through the RETRO machine and then POOF! You get star fox revengence for the Gamegear

I want my Mother. I rather get the Mother Trilogy released than another Star Fox game.

I'm sorry but Earthbound is by far more deserving. Star Fox just got a 3DS game last year (albeit a remake, but the same thing happened to Zelda), so Nintendo clearly has interest in bringing it back to the fore. Earthbound, on the other hand, hasn't officially seen the light of day in America since the 90s. And Kirby, Donkey Kong and Metroid never really went anywhere, since Kirby got two new games last year, and DK and Metroid each got one the year before that.

I'll admit F-Zero needs more love, though, and a new Ice Climber could be interesting. But talk about out of nowhere by picking StarTropics.

StarFox just got beat at it's own game with KI:U. Bring back Mother, Ice Climbers, or StarTropics! I'm confident that DKCR will get a Wii U sequel with the crazy sales that it got compared to the Prime series.

Metroid Prime: Hunters could use a sequel on 3DS, too. It was a nice spin-off that got DS online moving after MK:DS. The concept could be developed on, and it didn't have to distract RS or Sakamoto from the main entries.

Wow, I'm surprised to see that the Ice Climbers even made the list. I had no idea people were interested in them outside of Smash Brothers.

Star Fox doesn't surprise me at all. The last new one was Command which was back in 2006, I think, so he's long overdue for a new game.

Earthbound/Mother just isn't going to happen though. Itoi made it very clear after Mother 3 released that he wasn't going to make any more, and even if somebody else makes one, it's extremely likely that it won't be localized by NOA or NOE.

@mock turtle But Zelda also got a brand new game (skyward sword). Also, does anyone thing that Kid icarus uprising would have made a better star fox game than a kid icarus game?
@OprahFTWinfrey Ice climbers weren't on the list, i (among others that agreed with me in the comments) suggested it and they put it on the list. I suggested that an ice climbers game with price of persia-esque gameplay would probably be really good. Climbing up to the top of the mountain and fighting enemies would probably be really cool with modern technology.

Since when were Metroid, Kirby, and Donkey Kong considered dead?

I think F Zero and Star Fox will both make a comeback for Wii U. Not sure about Mother/ Ice Climbers, and I don't even know the last one is...

Kind of odd Kirby and DK are even on there, they JUST got revived.

Also odd that Metroid is up there too, considering it's had the most active past generation its ever had... But, after Other M, I can see why it's up there, people want the return of the good Metroid.

I want F-Zero the most, second Ice climbers. But I want F-Zero cause it would be awesome on Wii U or 3DS. And I'd want Ice climbers because there is only one game and a game made today could be amazing.

Nintendo can easily bring the Wii U success if the following games were released within the first year and a half:

StarTropics, Nintendo could always do with more expansive titles like that. The first two easily bested the two NES Zelda games and I would love Retro to do them...of course I want their next game to be something all new but then they should do that next! Like Kid Icarus it would be new enough to be called a new IP but also would save Nintendo time in having to think new characters, back stories world etc.

StarFox...a massive title where single player is the StarFox we all know and love but the multiplayer is something to really shout about and to sell the Wii U online, graphics and controller capabilities.

F-Zero, 1080 Snowboarding, Wave Race & ExciteBike. Wii U would be in need of some racers that isn't Mario Kart. Add some track creation there and some great online and you can keep the racer crowd more than happy for a long time.

Then we come to what we'd all love to see, a new Mario game. How about one that has the look of Yoshi's Island...but in 3D? Some beautiful cell shade graphics & welcoming style that is different from previous Mario games. Or even a MArio RPG with a similar graphic style.

Obviously throw in a new Wii Sports, Pikmin 3 (which MUST be ready for launch by now) and maybe a couple of new IP's and Nintendo would kill the others regardless of power.

As for others:

Ice Climbers is something else that could be modernised but keeping with the original style of gameplay. Would make a great co-op title and they can impress with some stunning snow visuals.

Earthbound, I want this to stay on a handheld. I don't see a new game to be honest but it would be nice if the 3DS got a decent compilation.

I don't really see why Donkey Kong, Kirby or Metroid need reviving. Ok Other M was a misstep but I reckon a side scrolling downloadable or 3DS title should be next followed by a huge Metroid Prime game.

I really want F-Zero, in the GX veins please.

Metroid? I think the voters must want a real next generation sidescroller, since we havent got one since 2004, or anything that makes them forget about the other one.

DK? Maybe people want something like DK64, or another Country Returns.

Im surprised to see Ice Climbers and Star Tropics there.

@LegendofSantiago
Skyward Sword isn't really relevant, considering it had been in development for five years before release. They turned OOT3D from tech demo to actual game in a year and a half. Plus, my point is that Star Fox has actually had a new game within the last two years, unlike the games shown on the left side of the graphic.

And it seems @ChozoBoy would disagree with you.

- Metroid, Kirby and DK all had recent games.

- MOTHER/EarthBound ended. I don't know why people think it would get a revival unless they remade the games. The story of Giygas/Porky came to an end and there was nothing more that Ito wanted to do, so making a 4th game would ruined/cheapen the whole thing.

F-Zero and Star Fox should and probably definitely will make a comeback on one or both of the consoles.

MOTHER will not. Like I said, the series is over, it wouldn't make sense. They could make a spiritual successor, or a similar game, but it wouldn't actually be EB/Mother. Especially if Ito isn't involved.

I am personally really hoping for an Ice Climbers reboot.

The original gameplay would not be that great, but they could easily make an amazing platforming/adventure game out of it and crazy mountain climbing stuff.

Ah man, I'd love a new Ice Climbers. Especially if Sakurai made it.

After experiencing Kid Icarus' awesome flying sections, I too would love a Star Fox game. Some of the flying sections in Kid Icarus blew my mind and I have no doubt that if given another opportunity, Star Fox would blow my mind too. I think it's about time we get a new Star Fox game whether it's on 3DS or on Wii U.

This could also potentially mean Sin & Punishment 3 would be a good fit on 3DS or Wii U.

according to fans, retro should handle all nintendo properties AND make a new ip . Those 60 people have a lot of work to do , i'll be fine with them handling two games at once :)

Because what, a remake means a new game? Reliving the same damn story is something new? Sorry, but the StarFox series is IN NEED of a revival. There hasn't been a new story in the StarFox Universe since StarFox Command. And perhaps Skyward sword is a game that has been in developement for 5 years but how is that irrevelant. It's a new game with new content. And with that, they're continuing the Zelda series.
