North America - 3DS, WiiWare and DSiWare upcoming games trai

Postby WesFX » 06 May 2012 21:25

@gtt

Right. Underwelming.

So why does that equate to negative ratings? Disinterest is negative now? I'm disinterested in the Mass Effect series, so should I just have negative feelings about them?

No, because that's idiotic.

I think the matter at hand may have more to do with disappointment rather than disinterest.

@WesFX More like a general dislike for shovelware. Of course, looks aren't everything, but they are definitely something, and the stuff we're seeing now kinda looks... bad. LOL

@YoshiRider123

But disappointment at what? No body was hyping these up before. Games like these happen all the time, and in no way get in the way of quality software. There's no logical reason to be disappointed. Carmen Sandiego has always been that kind of a game, though all the ones I remember centered around (IMO) boring geography.

@Battlestriker123

And I'd say non of this looks bad; mediocre at worst. I'm disinterested in mediocre, not mad about it. Be mad if these light up the charts, maybe, not the first time you hear about them.

With the article title being as ambiguous as this, it is completely reasonable to have expected...you know, more notable games.

That's the disappointment I'm referring to, that we got nothing but these games instead.

I think it's funny how people point their fingers at Nintendo like they are developing every one of these games. How delightfully ignorant!! :lol:

Yeah, let's blame Nintendo for not releasing/finishing localization of La-Mulana and milking the hell out of Cave Story.

It'd be a shame if everybody just automatically writes off Johnny Kung Fu. It definitely has potential and the few previews of it so far say it actually delivers. I'm going to keep my eye on it.

Hey, if WiiWare didn't suck, then Nicalis wouldn't have been compelled to cancel. I blame this one on Nintendo. They don't even pay the people who put their games on WiiWare unless they jump through hoops. No wonder all we get on it is shovelware.

EDIT: And for the record, I think Nintendo makes great games; I just don't think they should be allowed anywhere near any kind of process that determines which games go on what platform. What I'm saying is yes, I think they should go third-party, and we'll all be happier in a world where Nintendo focuses on making our jaws drop with Super Mario Galaxy 3 through Infinity instead of making us rant and scream at them for denying us Xenoblade for over a year and a half (and putting the wrong damn name on the title screen when we did get it!).

Still doesn't make sense. Wiiware does not suck. Hence why games like Cavestory, World of Goo and Bittrip got released. If Nicalis wanted, La Mulana would have released as well. Nintendo would have welcomed it. Nobody ever blamed this on Nintendo.

Well, WiiWare can't suck too terribly since there are companies like Shin'en, Gaijin Games, Frontier Developments and AkaOni were able to make good games on it.

Paul's shooting adventure 2 and Johnny kung fu is what I want if the price is right.
I didn't even hear about the first Paul shooting adventure game until I was browsing
http://www.nintendolife.com/reviews/2010/11/pauls_shooting_adventure_dsiware
On my cell while waiting to get a haircut. As soon as I saw the 200 price points for
Paul's shooting adventure 1, I bought & downloaded it and I don't regret buying it :D
Anyone with 200 points left should download the 1st Paul's shooting adventure game
Via dsiware and I am hoping the sequel will be 200 points as well unless more content is added.
