Today's hottest rumor involves Metroid and StarFox being smashed up into a single Retro game. Not surprisingly, people are reaching out to Nintendo to try and get a comment. For what it's worth, Nintendo has said that they do not comment on rumor and speculation. I'm sure that's even more true as we inch towards E3.

Has Nintendo ever decided to not comment on a rumor that wasn't true? Because as far as I'm concerned, the rumors always ended up being true.

Why do people reach out to Nintendo when they obviously know that they won't say anything. IGN does it all the time...

If it's no surprise, why is it considered news?

That's not quite as funny since the official timeline was revealed, but excellent.

IGN I can understand because it's technically their job to at least try. Non-journalists are just fooling themselves if they think there is any point in them trying.

No surprise, Nintendo won't comment on Metroid/StarFox rumor

@Marksman

Nintendo sends assassins to do that job ( http://www.gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&id=170747 ) not Miyamoto.

And secondly, why would anyone ask Nintendo to comment on rumor and speculation? Their reply has ALWAYS been the same. They'll let us know when they feel the time is right in order to shock and astound accordingly. Should be pretty obvious by now...

As a longtime Starfox AND Metroid fan, let me just say that these rumors had better be 100% FALSE. Why? Because it would be a goddamn TERRIBLE idea. That's why. I want a new Star Fox, a REAL Star Fox, a REAL honest to god sequel to SF64, with NOTHING but vehicle based "on rails" space shooter action, MOSTLY having to do with the Arwing (maybe a couple tank/whatever as long as it's not walking around levels). That's what I've wanted since Star Fox 64, over a decade ago. If it's true Retro is doing SF, they better not f*** it up with something retarded by "hey let's put our own 'unique' spin on it', or "HEY, let's mix it with the Metroid universe, cuz that'd be SUPER AWESOME!".

No thank you. Just give me a GOOD Star Fox. For Wii U. That is all.
