Hellwig didn't confirm any projects for the 3DS, but the interest is certainly there. Let's hope something is going on behind the scenes.

According to the website I found, NG = NeoGeo, basically.

They seem to work purely in 2D.

@WesFXCool, well 2D games with layered 3D is pretty awesome. Make more of that
