It came out already in Europe and Japan. Unfortunately, the game doesn't seem like to be a huge seller and I just remembered it is coming out tomorrow.

In all the movies in English that take place in France, only the bad guys do have a French accent.

That's because the French should either spend their time cooking, or hatching evil plans. They aren't good for much else.

I am actually really excited for this game! I got it for $30.00 on Amazon, and it seems like just the kind of thing I need right now... I've been playing big, serious games like Assassin's Creed Brotherhood lately, and this could be just the interesting little jaunt I need.

At first I thought this was from an awesome dedicated fan, but it seems like they partnered with SEGA to promote this game. :(

I've been wanting to try a rhythm game for quite a while, but didn't want to spend a lot of money for something akin to a minigame collection. But since this seems to tie the games together through a story and it's not too expensive, ... I just ordered. :P

That's exactly what I was thinking. That's the reason that I love the Professor Layton games so much... They give me a strong narrative to tie the puzzle-solving components together. I'm hoping that Rhythm Thief will do the same thing for rhythm games.

- Why do you sign with a different name than your username?
- Why do you append advertisement to your posts?

That just seemed kinda weird to me and I'm not sure if advertisement like that is even allowed. A lot of forums prohibit that in the rules; though I must admit I never actually read the rules here.

I can understand your confusion now.

That said, from the GN Forum Rules for Sigs:
Messageboard/Profile specifics
Signatures: No wider than 600px, no taller than 150px, no larger than 75kb. 150px tall includes any lines of text you want to include. You may include links in your sig as long as they don't link to inappopriate content.
You may not post sig-type content to the blog feedback section.(emphasis mine)

I own 8BitVS, and I write many of the articles there. I began on GoNintendo a long time ago as KamehamehaX, then started The 8-Bit Variety Show a few years down the road. I am known as "BitNick" over there, and I have some friends on GN who know me both ways, and I have had features/articles posted from The 8-Bit Variety Show by RMC, so I still maintain my KamehamehaX account, but sign as BitNick.

Does that explain it a bit better?

It does. I thought it would be something like that. I guess the part of the forum rules I would have referred to would be this:

You may include personal links in your User Profile or in your forum signature, but not story feedback.

Your link was Off-Topic. If you had linked to an article on your site that's about the game or something, I'd have no problem with that. But like this, it didn't even belong to your post. It doesn't matter that much, and it's none of my business since I'm not a mod, I know. Just pointing out that you'd maybe want to put that link in your signature instead.

Point well taken. I counted it as being part of my signature, but it isn't technically in the signature area, which could get me in trouble.

Thanks!

Phew, I'm so relieved. Usually when I criticize someone in my (maybe ignorant) manner, it will end up in a pointless fight I had no intention staring. Let me add that I think this is not just technical nitpicking about what "signature" means, because there's two differences between the forum signature and a manually added signature:

- The almost invisible line before the signature makes a surprisingly striking difference. I almost never notice the signatures when reading posts.
- Signatures are only shown when viewing the forum thread, not in the comments section of the article itself (see here).

That said, I have no idea how the mods handle this, so it might or might not be an actual problem.

Me neither. I've been doing it for a long time, but I figure that this is a "better safe than sorry" situation. I think that my new sig should be a bit better... :)

Whether they have a legitimate point or not, I have a good sense when someone is trying to help, and when someone is needlessly being a jerk. Starting a pointless fight isn't ever useful, so I appreciate the feedback... On top of that, you now know that I own The 8-Bit Variety Show, and that the owner isn't an unreasonable jerk. I now know that I like you.

Win-Win!

I promise we'll do our best not to be corrupted by greed and the senate. I mean...well, you get the point. :)

Sega's where we started (Needlemouse: The Musical was our inaugural piece and it was done for Sonic's 19th birthday competition) so working more with Sega was a no-brainer. We also did Sega's April Fools joke this year: Sega Bass Fishing of the Dead.

We would like to get into more partnerships, but we also have our brand to maintain: quirky, clean, funny, cute, and inventive. We will stay true to that for as long as we are Random Encounters. So, when we're one day partnering with LucasArts to promote a serious Star Wars game, you can bet it will have the same zany silliness the you're used to!
