ENDOFDAYTHOUGHTS 01

Man, yesterday was a little bit creepy! If you missed out on that action, you can check it out right here. Glad to have things back to normal. You hit up this thought and I'm going to hit up my pillow! See you in a few short hours.

Over the past few weeks, we've seen anonymous sources talking Wii U left and right. It seems like every other day we're hearing comments on the system's power. Those comments are mixed in with discussion from developers that actually don't mind putting their name behind their details.

All of this conversation has lead us to one point. We don't know how powerful the Wii U really is. Some anonymous sources say that the system is weaker than PS3 and 360. Then you have companies like Gearbox saying that Aliens: Colonial Marines is going to look best on Wii U when compared to 360/PS3. How can these two statements be true? Either someone is embellishing, or someone doesn't know their architecture.

Depending on the devs working on a platform and their technical experience, more can be pulled out of a system. Some devs might approach a situation one way while another group would tackle the same situation differently. This could lead to vastly different impressions of the system, and quite a difference in visuals as well.

There are all sorts of ways to look at it, but that's not what I'm out to learn. What I want to know is...do you guys actually care about the raw power of the Wii U? We know the system will, at the very least, display graphics that are akin to 360/PS3. Do you mind if it's not as powerful as those systems? Do you want it to be able to outperform them? Are you set to buy a Wii U no matter what the guts let the system do visually?
