David Perry may be doing well now, but he still remembers the days when Shiny was at the top of its game. The company that brought us Earthworm Jim was a big name years ago, but that all fell apart when Perry sold the company to Atari. He now considers that move to be the worst mistake he ever made.

That's why Shiny wasn't involved in Earthworm Jim 3D. Not surprisingly, Perry hasn't even played the game.

"I never played it. I said to the CEO of Atari, 'if I rebuild the Earthworm Jim team, will you fund it', and he said he would. We rebuilt the team. Atari said we were low on cash and they said the weren't going to start any new projects. It was embarrassing for me."
