GN Version 4.0
A portion of an NES interview with Pierre Forest, co-founder and CEO of Metaboli ...

NES: How will you develop the Lab in the future ? I’ve heard that there have been discussions internally on the opportunity to extend it on consoles. Home systems, and even more the coming ones, are largely connected and embrace digital distribution. Is it possible that one day we can fund a game and then download it through a Lab application available on the Wii U’s eShop or on the Marketplace for Xbox 720 ?

PF: Gamesplanet has been experienced in the PC field for more than 10 years but nothing limits the Lab to computers only. We are gamers and would be pleased to expand our business on the upcoming home systems.

Metaboli is working on what we call a “convergent offer”, meaning that we could provide to an entire family, access to a library of games available either by streaming (i.e. using a player to download games as we currently offer on Metaboli), or in the cloud, or to download to own. And some of those games will be crowd-sourced, crowd-created, and come from the Lab. This offer would be available on multiple supports, from PC to TV or mobile platforms. About the consoles, Gamesplanet has been experienced in the PC field for more than 10 years but nothing limits the Lab to computers only. We are gamers and if it’s possible and once the Lab is calibrated and reaches it cruise speed, we would be very interested to study the possibility to bring it on consoles. To illustrate our open-mind on the devices involved, it seems that for Magrunner, 3am Games is already thinking about a console version (we don’t know which platform yet) and some of the projects we are currently thinking about involve some IOS and Android versions…
