Gearbox was offered, turned down opportunity to work on Call of Duty
UPDATE - Apparently there is a dispute with the translation of this info.
Gearbox's Randy Pitchford said that his company was approached about handling a game in the Call of Duty franchise. Ultimately he turned down the offer, stating that there would be no challenge in working on the franchise.
"You have to do what is expected of a Call of Duty. In this I see but no real challenge for us. It would [not] strengthen our reputation as a studio, it would not be really motivating for our team."
