Phil from Shamoozal has done amazing, AMAZING things with animation. He's shown such a great love for gaming and art. Somehow we were lucky enough to be the home for his Read Only Memory series. Volume 2 is now a rap, but Phil has stopped in one last time to show off his season compilation. He's poured SO many man hours into this. Please do him and me a favor...check these out. See you in a few, short hours.

The following post comes from Phil over at Shamoozal.com

_______________

When I set out to make Read Only Memory Vol 2, I knew I wanted to make it better than Vol 1 in nearly every way possible. Before I completed Vol 1, the idea was always going to be packaging the four shorts together for a compilation video, but I never worked out how. When the time came, I was able to cobble a few ideas together in an attempt to make the videos somewhat interconnect. It worked well enough, but I wasn't too satisfied. With Vol 2, I planned out the compilation video from the start. Instead of making the final video work with the shorts, I made the shorts work with the final video.

My goal with Vol 2 is to attempt to give a glimpse as to what it was like being a fan of the NES back in its hey day. I chose the date of December 1989 very carefully. We were literally at the height of the NES. The movie The Wizard had just come out. Super Mario Brothers 3 was only a few months away from launching. There were many key pieces moving around during this time period. The focus though is on a smaller, individual scale. We're just following a boy through his "normal" Nintendo obsessed life. Even if you didn't grow up in this time period, I'm hoping that you can still feel the theme of this video from the consoles that you grew up with.

And with that, we wrap up Read Only Memory. It was great to have the opportunity to create this series with GoNintendo and I hope you, as Nintendo fans, have enjoyed the series. As for what I'm up to next, who knows? You can follow me on Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/shamoozal) or like Shamoozal on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/shamoozal) to keep in contact. Thanks for reading, and more importantly, thank you for watching.

Just incase you haven't seen Volume 1, you can catch up on that below as well.
