The near insurmountable difficulty wall of Monster Hunter

If you've been following along with my posts, you know that I've really been getting into Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. Like...really, REALLY getting into it. It's the first time I've ever honestly sat down with Monster Hunter and tried to figure out what all the fuss in Japan is about.

Believe it or not, the game finally clicked with me. I get why people love it...I get why it has a huge following. I also understand more than ever just how hard the game is to get into. It seems like Capcom did everything they could to scare off newcomers as quickly as possible.

Do I understand everything that's going on in the game? I certainly do not, but I'm learning as I go. The core of the game is so much fun that I actually enjoy hitting the internet for explanations of mechanics and unseen tables. Monster Hunter has a crazy barricade up that prevents many people from ever exploring what the series is about. Just how many of you are willing to chip that wall away?
