Media blast: LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, The Last Of Us & more join the MCM London Comic Con Games Stage; UK pianist, Mark Fowler, to close the show.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, The Last Of Us and GRID 2 are the latest additions to the MCM London Comic Con Games Stage, Xbox360Achievements.org (X360A) and PS3Trophies.org (PS3T) today announced. The trio of games joins the likes of Splinter Cell Blacklist, Mass Effect’s Mark Meer and Tomb Raider’s Camilla Luddington.

TT Games’ Phil Ring will be on hand and hitting the stage on the Sunday to show off the latest LEGO game, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, one that is sure to resonate with the comic con audience.

Sony and Naughty Dog’s hugely anticipated new IP, The Last Of Us, takes centre-stage on the Saturday lunchtime, with Naughty Dog showing off the game and taking audience questions.

Meanwhile, GRID 2 will race its way onto the Games Stage with X360A and PS3T running the Checkpoint Challenge, giving audience members the chance to get hands-on with the game before launch and maybe even win a copy.

Explosive Alan and former SentUAMessage host, Dan ‘MrPointyHead’ Maher, also joins the impressive line-up with a tribute to Dr Bennett Foddy, the creator of some of the most fiendishly difficult flash games ever made. The interactive gaming special will challenge onlookers to participate in these hilariously tricky games, with a lucky few getting the opportunity to take some wonderfully terrible swag home with them.

To close on the show on the Sunday evening, UK pianist, Mark Fowler, will be on stage to perform a video game related set of classic video game music.

“It was important for us to add some diversity to the proceedings this time around,” said Dan Webb, Editor-in-Chief of X360A and PS3T. “Mark is a hugely talented pianist and, as a big fan of video game music, getting him up on stage to close the Games Stage was a no brainer for me.”

Mark will play familiar accompaniments from classic franchises such as Halo, Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls, Metal Gear, Zelda, Assassin’s Creed, Final Fantasy and more.

“We’re treating the Games Stage as more of a celebration of gaming this year, and getting the voice talent like Mark Meer and Camilla Luddington, as well as Mark Fowler, on-stage is a testament to that,” added Webb. “And what would a celebration be without prizes? We’ll have swag galore to giveaway to attendees from various publishers, and we’ll also be kick-starting a 200,000 Microsoft Points giveaway in association with Ubisoft and Splinter Cell Blacklist on the sites when the show kicks off too. It’s set to be very exciting, so don’t miss out!”
