GN Version 4.0
Gamasutra has finally shared the full comments on their indie dev feature that was discussed somewhat last week. Now you can read up on the full answers given by a handful of Wii U indie devs. The topics covered are as follows...

On Wii U’s lagging sales

- developers ranged from not concerned at all, to very concerned
- theoretically easier to stand out right now on eShop
- teams are small, and a Unity port requires little effort
- hoping Nintendo can turn things around

On how Nintendo can help them sell more games

- storefront needs to be streamlined
- needs to do what it can to sell more Wii U systems in order to expand
- needs better communicating to the mass market what the system has to offer
- needs to be more transparent about digital sales on eShop

On working with Nintendo

- some developers were hesitant to recommend to other developers bringing their game to eShop because of software sales uncertainty
- all developers we spoke with were happy with their experience in working with Nintendo
- Nintendo is generous with loaner development kits and general developer support
- Nintendo is responsive to the needs of the free-to-play business model
