A couple tidbits about Wii U GBA VC games (instruction booklets, single player)

Reader ModestMrGreen checked out all the Wii U VC GBA content coming out tonight, which lead him to discover a couple things. First up, Nintendo took the time to actually scan in all the original GBA instruction booklets for the games they're releasing. These may be available within the actual games themselves, but we'll have to wait to find out. Second, the online listings mark all games as single player, even though some of them featured multiplayer on the GBA. Looks like our Wii U GBA adventures will be single player only.

GBA is very cool. Leaving multiplayer out is VERY un-cool, especially in Wii U's case.

Well... how would multiplayer even work with the WiiU? I understand it working with the 3DS... but the WiiU....

Still not possible. You know how in GBA multiplayer, each person has their own copy of the game? Well, how will that work on the wii u, especially when it's a game with a save feature? It's technically impossible.

I'm not complaining, but why are we getting GBA games before N64?

It's emulation, and you can save games just like every emulator out there can(including Wii U), and the multiplayer code could also create virtual instance of the game for every player.

GBA also introduced the single cart multiplayer.

Single cart multiplayer games should get local 2 player on the U. One on the tv, and one on the pad.

We've had N64 games for ages on the Wii VC... and they're still available there through Wii U.

GBA games are at least something new for consoles. (legally speaking) :p

I don't blame anyone for not wanting to use the Wii Shop Channel anymore. I plan to never use it again just for the fact that it'd be a separate "wallet" to keep track of. If they found a way to make the eShop wallet shared with it, that'd be a different story.
