Nintendo worked with M2 for GBA Wii U VC titles

Some might notice that GBA games on the Wii U VC have a bit more in the bells and whistles department. If you're wondering why that is, we may have found the answer. Turns out Nintendo worked with M2 to get GBA games on the Wii U VC. For those unaware, M2 most recently was working on the 3D SEGA Classics lineup for the 3DS eShop. Thanks to Kolma for the heads up!

That's why things are as good as they are. Really hope M2 continues to help with other VC games. I highly doubt Nintendo will go and update past releases, though.

Whoa hang on, I'm a bit confused... I may be far behind on the news...

But what is different about these than any other Virtual Console release besides the scanned manuals?

I hope this doesn't mean GBA games will be released really slowly.

- Can turn on a smoothing option for games where the pixels get jaggy. On the fly, with clicking Right Stick.
- Not only scanned manuals, but you can run them WHILE playing at the same time.
- Offers multiple screen sizes. Both are optimized to make the games look amazing, instead of stretched out. You can also have original resolution or whatever. I forget the details.
- The brightness was fixed. Multiple GBA games were artificially brightened to compensate for no backlight on the original GBA. The 3DS versions share this and are kinda washed out looking. These versions on Wii U were darkened to look more natural.

I think general slowdown was also fixed too.

Apparently Mario & Luigi runs on an advanced/emulated Gameboy Player for some reason too.

Many GBA games that were released around the same time as the Gameboy Player had the GBP logo at the start to advertise that it was available. I didn't know about all the other features they have on VC.

Somehow I missed that. Most of mine, even post GBP don't say it. I think M&L has it because it used the rumble feature. The Wii U one doesn't seem to support them.

M2 is fantastic. Contra/Cvania ReBirth are awesome, and they did amazing job on the Sega Vintage Collections series for PS3/360.
